But apparently these were photos that are supposed to be very confidential and aren't supposed to be leaked because it exposes the secret photo sharing cabal among the small group of insiders on these boards as well as may just have exposed and killed off their "golden goose" source, all because some 4chan guy was mad at the TFW guys and had beef for not sharing... or something equally petty. It's all actually very silly.

 

If Takara ever decides to make updated versions of the BW2 and BWN Cybertrons and Destrons a lot of them could be repainted into their Maximal and Predacon counterparts here in the west. I'd buy them.

The only ones Japan didn't recycle into new characters would just leave Buzz Saw (Waspy repaint/tool), Snapper, and Insecticon for the Predacons. Wolfang (though they did later make a Predacon version IIRC), K-9, Cybershark (a retool of Sharp Edge), and Grimlock (DB repaint/tool) for the Maximals.

I agree with you on this, I wasn't privy to any of the inside information and enjoyed the little tidbits that were being made available in the discussion and had fun reading through the speculation. But in the end I really hated how people treated Apollux and constantly asked him repeatedly for information he said was beyond the purview of information he had. If I ever get an inside look at the future of transformers, I don't know if I would want to spill any of it after seeing how people act in general on these forums and off.

 

Speaking of Japanese characters I'm thinking that if we're to get a new Lio Convoy or at least a new Leo Prime it'd be cool if they retooled the Tigatron mold into Leo Prime. I mean with Tigatron being the right bulk and shape for both beast and robot mode it'd be a good way to get an effective representation of Lio Convoy/Leo Prime. Sure it's not the same as getting a new dedicated mold to the original Lio Convoy but I can't see Lio Convoy getting a new mold anytime soon given that he's still unknown in America.

 

Takara may end up doing their Selects magic again.

 

True. I mean the fact that we got an amazing Super Megatron out of the Titans Return Galvatron mold is still impressive. All the same if Hasbro were to do a Lio Convoy it'd be in the form of a Leo Prime homage retooled from Tigatron since at least that version of Lio Convoy was released in the states for our Selects line. While Takara can give us a Lio Convoy that's more like the original BW II version for theirs.

 

All we need to confirm are the 3 remaining predacons. But other than Tarantulas being a retool, I hardly ever see new mold figures being made into exclusives or selects. So it's just hard to predict what will happen to terrorsaur and inferno.

 

When they made Beast Wars there was supposed to be a lion-beastformer Maximal, but they thought he was too similar to Cheetor, so they replaced him with Dinobot. I would to see a version of that, a figure who transforms more like Cheetor and Tigatron than Lio Convoy.

 

Honestly since I mostly collect obscure updates, I’m more interested in whatever repaints or retools we get out of these guys. Like BW Grimlock out of Dinobot or Sandstorm from Scorponok.

 

Isn't Double Punch also a repaint option for Scorponok?

Personally I don't care about the spoilers, knowing I'm going to be able to buy a figure in 6 months vs 2 months official release doesn't mean much to me. I did enjoy the little bits of information being handed out but if people who had inside information were being harassed that's just not ok.

 

I'm using Punch/Counterpunch to enforce my belief that they may indeed get an exclusive release even with needing to be all new molds.

Okay so on the subject of Tarantulas.

Been seeing people say that they can't see how blackarachnia could be retooled from femme fatal to dr. Frankenstein.

So just to play with the idea that he'd be an exclusive, and playing with the amount of retooling some recent Exclusives have had (Earthrise Ironhide/Ratchet & Prowl/Bluestreak) it would really only need 3 new pieces to make the change.

1) Head 2) Chest 3) abdomen/spider head.

The rest is all pretty much reused from Blackarachnia, and it's entirely plausible that the shoulders could be wider set depending on the engineering for Blackarachnia and the new parts (didn't feel like shifting the shoulders if I don't know how they're built, just in case).

Not saying its perfect, especially since it's just a quick mockup on my phone, but I think it's possible and probably far better if done by HasTak.

 

An obscure repaint option if they were to remake Insecticon would be Scarem (the other Predacon stag beetle).

I kind of have a theory that given Iguanus and Spittor were also remade into TM2s Scarem might have originally been plan to be a TM2 Insecticon since the only 'new' Predacon TM2 both as a character and adding a new beast mode to the list was Scourge a locust (the others being Dinobot and a year later Tripredacus Agent/Ravage).

 

It's the same as I thought, the mold lends itself to Tarantulas, they just remove the female features and that's it.

This happened the same with Tentakil and Scylla from Generation Selects.

So we can get Trantulas from Selects or some other Exclusive. That just leaves Terrorsaur and Inferno.

If Wingfinger transformers like Terrorsaur they might be able to make him into Terrorsaur with a lot of retooling.

That just leaves Inferno. The Shelf Warmer.

There is something ironic about a guy called Inferno being a shelf warmer.

To be fair the image we got of the best mode is more 'generic spider' than a black widow. They might be able to do it without too much difficulty.

 

I could see the Tigatron mold being used to make a Leobreaker to go with GUOP from Siege.

I mean, the new Ironhide Ratchet mold is used exclusively in exclusive two-packs, no retail presence. Could be a situation closer to that than anything else
