I keep going back to the Weibo guy everyone wanted to mock. But they managed to do it without getting figured out or burning their source so...

The people I assume to be part of this mess are the ones protesting the loudest. Including at least one person who's naming the others who had pics....because the last thing anyone should do once a source gets burned is publicly name everybody who was in a position to do so.

There's at least two guys who, once pics leaked, just zipped up and faded into the background. They knew what was up and acted to protect their sources.

I was the same. I saw the pics, I was surprised how much I like the BW figures (I was pretty sure I wouldn't buy much, as I'm mostly just into Lio Convoy for some reason, but I would be interested in a BW Megatron, if he would scale to one of my Lio Convoys, even though he's not exactly the correct adversary, but it's my shelf and they can fight whoever they want :lol  ) and I even thought maybe getting Cheetor, even though I'm not much of a fan of him (from the original Beast Wars I mostly liked Silverbolt, Dinobot and Megatron best), but I already found a good reason in loving cats and Cheetor is a cat :D  Anyway, I went here, posted my comment, read some other comments and was like "Whaaaaaa? Am I the only one who likes these?" :lol

While you're technically not victim blaming, you're still placing the responsibility of the 4chan leaker's actions on us. That's shifting the blame. I'm not sure why that's such a hard concept for you to grasp or why you're being so adamant about this.

Huh? Who's mad? I don't care one way or the other. My position on the matter has always been: If someone else leaks it, more power to them. As long as I'm not the one who went against their word to not share them (privately or publicly, anonymously or otherwise), my conscience is clear.

Dude. You need to stop this. This is not cool. Stop making false assumptions and taking what I'm saying out of context. Thundershot made an exaggerated remark about the number of people who were in the know. I responded by listing all of the people who participated in that PUBLIC discussion on this very forum.

Asking the right and real question in the wrong thread. But yeah, what gives? The one thing that needs to be leaked... where is it?!?!?! :D

What? No, we did not give them "permission", because we can't. Only Hasbro can give "permission" to show and reveal anything and they most certainly did not. And arguably wrong or not, TFW or whoever acknowledging the pics on the front page doesn't suddenly make it OK for the leakers to dance around a few NDAs because "we did it for the community!" or "they egged me on, my internet cred is at stake!" and "mah YouTube channel!". That's just the excuse these anonymous fools use to spread around their secret pics and then try to one up each other on the reveals. It's still all on them, and if they got into trouble that's just on them, too. But blaming the viewer or "society" instead just comes off as really weird and self-loathing, even for the over-dramatic fan on a message board.

Might not have any of the accessories that help fill out the spider mode either.

    Once again, right on point.

Instead of passing the buck maybe just take responsibility in how this played out, I mean if you wanna get technical the 'victim' here is Hasbro / Takara rather than the one who stole from them. Before long another leaker will pop up since they always tend to, and if not then we'll just have to wait normally for stuff to release. How awful would that be?

    "Victim blaming", what a laugh.

Plus Hasbro knows who TFW and the other websites are and cease and desist letters can be sent electronically now, so if "promoting" the leaks was even remotely the real issue than the pics would be gone from these places like yesterday.

I would, but we'd never get the match started because I think certain people would be stuck in the back pointing at themselves in the locker room mirror shouting "SHAME!"

Who said "instead?" I've been perfectly clear this whole time both the reviewers buying stolen stuff and the people rewarding the reviewers with attention/news credit/views are to blame here.

Having a leak appear and then having someone troll and claim it came from here would be par for the course for 4chan. Have any of you considered that they are intentionally messing with you?

It's simple, you boasted about having the leaks making yourself a target by drawing attention to the fact you had leaks, by teasing it. So when someone acquired the leaks via a different source they called you out on it by implying one of you was the source. No TFW2005 board member trusted with leaks would be stupid enough to post the leak with a big label saying effectively that they are a TFW2005 board member and posting a copy of the leak with a TFW2005 watermark. The goal seems clear, to bring the group of TFW2005 leakers down by trying to cause you to fight between yourselves. You've never seen Captain America: Civil War?

As for the current conflict, arguing it out on the board will solve nothing but make you a big red flag to potential sources in future regardless of your potential involvement. Why would they supply you with leaks if you kick up a fuss whenever a leak occurs that is unrelated to you and imply that it was someone you know who leaked it? It just feels like everyone is shooting themselves in the foot here and that 4chan is laughing at you for doing so.

    ------

    Back on topic.

Regarding Kingdom my main hopes for figures rides mostly with Scorponok. He's sadly been the subject of some rather lacking toys in the past and it would be nice to get an accurate version of Beast Wars Scorponok. Beast Wars Megatron would also be nice to get, as I never managed to get the organic version. The leaked figures sadly don't hype me up much - Blackarachnia is probably the best out of the leaks so far for me.

And I've been clear that the only thing the viewer is to blame for is being an excited fan, which is not wrong or a crime. Stealing on the other hand is, and if they get in trouble for it then they don't get any extra sympathy points just because they want to use being internet popular to justify their actions.

I'm probably in the minority here but I'd rather not be getting these tiny blurry pictures of unfinished toys. I'd rather wait for them to be completed and see the final product. It's just not worth someone risking their jobs so we can see something that may or may not be the final version of the product.

That said. I do like what we've seen so far and will be picking up all the beasties! Not that I'm a huge BW fan but because BW deserves its time and our beastie friends have waited in the shadows long enough. I want to show Hasbro BW has support so maybe other parts of our fandom can get some love.

G14life but let's let the others have some fun.

Thank you, its better if we just put the whole pointing fingers at each other argument under the rug and just discuss the figures before the thread gets locked.
I agree, I can't wait to see Scorponok's new "realistic" beast mode. I wonder if we will get something like this? Or with a more muted color scheme?

Can someone summarize what people are so mad about? How is this different than the usual leaks?

For what it's worth, if these are the last leaks we get for a while, I'm okay with it. I'm pretty satisfied with what I've seen so far, and if they're any indication I have no doubt that the other BW figures in Kingdom will turn out great. I think guys like Apollux handled the leaks the best they could have, doing a steady drip-feed of information that was fun for pretty much everyone involved. But the 4chan user jumped the gun, the images are out there, and what's done is done. For those out there disappointed with the way that the figures look, I understand, but personally I'm really excited for the likes of Cheetor and Blackarachnia in spite of their respective faults. I'll definitely be picking the Cheetor mold up twice-- once for Cheetor himself, the second time around for Shadow Panther. Warpath is looking really good, even if I think I'm still okay with the Generations figure.

If I have to wait until late Fall to see the rest of the figures, I think I can handle that. Kingdom is shaping up to be the first mainline TF series of toys that I've been excited for in a good long while, and potentially the means of opening the floodgates for updates of all kinds of BW characters, like the ones from the Japanese series or toy exclusive characters such as Razorbeast or Manterror. I'm immensely hopeful this line sells well.
