That and this one costs alittle over $200 where as trouble maker costs almost $1,000.

And, as we know, according to people buying troublemaker, it's been mathematically proven that the number 200 is "close enough" to 1000.

Well no shit, they aren't trying to compete with Studio Series. Troublemaker is an MPM. That's not even a fair comparison.

Yeah I mean an $800 difference is just pocket change right? A few bucks? I can probably find that in a Walmart parking lot for sure.

Oh cool the 3P fans have begun spilling in to yet another thread about a Hasbro product to advertise 3P products.

Bro, I have that in my piggy bank. I mean, it’s such a small difference in cash, Hasbro should’ve just made Devastator transform itself.

but srsly, no one is ragging on Earthrise Optimus Prime in comparison to MP-44 tf do you guys expect from a mainline release, that is marketed as toys for kids. Imo Hasbro is doing enough with SS as is. It’s a major step up in quality, compared to any movie line, with the exception of a couple figures of the Last Knight. And the movie designs are so complicated and random that expecting the third party/MP black magic to spill into mainlines is frankly, a bit stupid. Add that along with decent articulation, as well as paint (Both are even harder in SS as compared to WFC, for example), and you have a bit of a nightmare on your hands. Sure, SS Leadfoot could use more paint on the legs, but his articulation, robot mode, accessories, and vehicle Mode is the best you are going to get for $20.

Nailed it on the head. It’s just not possible to compare the two in any aspect. Two different world going on that have tons of different reasons for doing what they do.

Troublemaker will hardly be MPM scale, as Smash is barely taller than MPM Barricade. If anything, Troublemaker's combined mode crawling on all four will be about as tall as the SS Devastator

As tall as the bipedal SS Devastator when TM's on all fours. But I'm talking design sensibilities, accuracy, price point. No one in their right mind will think a thousand dollar venture is for a CHUG figure. That's absurd.

Accuracy is debatable, as most of the Ttoublemaker members are barely even accurate to their CGI models/concept arts. Oc TM has more going on with its engineering, stellar paint apps and all of that. But the thing is that I fear Troublemaker will fall short on an MPM scale, and would be better suitted for SS in combined mode

...why are people still using this thread to run a 3P marketing campaign?

If you want to debate Troublemaker versus Studio Series Devastator. Start a new thread. If you want to talk about the possible box set, by all means continue, but continuing to compare a 3P set that costs around $1k to a mass retail release is just not logical nor the point of this thread. No one reads the title and comes here to read about troublemaker.

Let’s try to get back on track here:

So one thing I’m really curious about is if this will just be another normal release? An exclusive? Convention limited run thing? Kidney mail order?
No retail store will have this just laying on a shelf at that size and price (at least most Walmart’s that are no longer carrying items over $50 for a lot of areas with the new cooperate changes.)

I’d guess exclusive. That seems to be the name of the game lately.

I mean, who knows anymore. Targets have shelve spots for Scorpy and MPM Starscream and those are $150 each.

It's more likely this won't get shelf space due to how big it'd be. But Target wouldn't hesitate to sell it online.

Debating about TM was never my intention. As I also think that those comparing TM with the SS Devastator are unfair and kind of expected too much for a Hasbro combining figure. All I wanted was to clear out some scale issues with TM as to why I think it wouldn't exactly fit with the MPM scale for the pricepoint.
    That was all

Might have to just sell my individual cons if this happens. I do hope they include some extra accesories, missile pods, shoulder extensions...
    ...enemy scrotum...

I would love to see a set replicated in their glorious G1 colors, wicked!

Just finished building Devy this week, best SS figure ever!
