Depending on how show-accurate they intend to make his robot mode, he may also need new robot legs, or at least thigh armour. Tarantulas had thicker thighs, and his shins were freakishly narrow (perhaps too narrow for plastic, however. Easy breaking point).

 

I am so glad they are focusing on getting the alt modes right on these guys. That is the main reason Siege does little for me. I don't care about show accuracy, solely due to the fact that I haven't watched the show and didn't grow up with it (weirdly enough, I saw Beast Machines). So, odd robot mode bits and bobs don't bother me; Cheetor looks close enough to a BW outsider.

Wow, that Blackarachnia looks dead on accurate and would be cheaper/easier to get a hold of than the Masterpiece. Cheetor looks alright, definitely an improvement in the robot mode department over the Universe Classics one. Warpath though, I need to see better pics of him, and the Generations mold from 2011 still holds up as an excellent deluxe

 

Really, I just wish the arms were blue. The sculpt is there, but they didn't paint the forearms. I mean, if we aren't getting his guns, then they could have at least spared the change for a bit more blue paint on his arms. I also wish the helmet was gold, but that's just my preference.

It's not enough to make me dislike the figure though, but I do worry a bit about the paint apps on the rest of the BW characters.

The long torso does weird me out a bit on Cheetor...

 

Is it from sites that involve an angry blue bird? I think Hasbro knows better now that they want to actually make money. Lol.

Blackarachnia could use a bit more of a neck. Her boobs are awkwardly close to her face. Other than that she looks pretty terrific. Looks like they just took the face from the MP CAD file and scaled it down.

I like the new design on Cheetor. Looks like he'll be fun to mess around with. Hopefully his beast mode feet can fold in in robot mode to make his shins sit flush. Beast mode is epic.

Warpath looks promising. Hope they'll be able to implement what they learned here into a MP figure eventually!

 

While the original toy had blue forearms, the show did them in gold. This toy has zero gold paint, for the sake of paint budget, with the yellow-orange being "close enough".

Cheetor already has a shit-ton of paint, with all that extra budget eaten up by his spot patterns. Looks like he's the Wheeljack of his wave, getting the lion's share of paint apps, whereas Blackarachnia gets significantly less.

 

If Tigatron is getting his own mold I'd like it if Tarantulas got one as well.

 

You're right. It's been a while and I was thinking of gold, but I then checked my original BW toy and saw the blue.

I might bust out some gold paint if I ever feel confident enough to paint my figures. XD

 

Okay, wild theory: Tigatron is a different mold because they plan to retool his more 'chunky' altmode into a different 'big cat' of the panthera genus.

 

I think it's a good thing that they're too busy currently ruining D&D. Besides, I don't think they have a say on this type of stuff. Hasbro was able to get away with making females for marvel legends that the majority don't take cues from the current comics.

 

Maybe we’ll get Inferno retooled from Waspinator? They both have big bug butts and bug heads on their chests. He may not be sized perfectly but it could work.

 

That black arachnia is making me question what they were charging us for in the masterpiece figure. These look pretty decent actually

 

We live in a year where we can have Primal smashing Core OP saying "Munky not trukk!" And Leader OP smash back saying "TRUKK NOT MUNKY!!"

I guess that's kind of one upside of 2020
