Looks like Megs would be matched well against the Optimus cab bot, but he's dwarfed by the combined mode.

I'd be okay with somewhere in the middle: larger than cab Optimus; not quite as large as combined Optimus. I also like that they're filling out the alt mode into a bit more of a proper tank, instead of an H-tank.

 

I mean, I meant the core Optimus but I didn't specify here.

Wow, I always thought he'd be bigger. Shorter than I expected.

 

I originally thought Fanshobby's Armada Megatron was too small but looking back at the picture and the anime scale chart the scale is actually very accurate and Megs is a head taller than Optimus like he should be.






I kinda wish he could be even larger like he is in the video game scale chart but I guess that's just me being picky lol.

 

Even if the scale's accurate it doesn't make it not stupid. He should tower over regular Optimus so he can believably take Super Prime.

 

I like the current scale.
Bigger than Base Prime to overpower him, give him a reason to have the Super Mode.
Smaller than Supermode to show that Prime can turn the tables and win a formerly desperate fight
Equal heights when they're both combined to make an even match up and epic fights. (At least I think he's Supermode height when combined with Tidal Wave)

 

Megatron has his own upgrade to counter that too, though.

 

It's to counter Jet Prime and imho it's pretty damn unimpressive. It doesn't even fix the problem because he's still too short.

 

Yes but More Gun is the solution to every problem.

Honestly, Tidal Wave is an upgrade character with a Partsformy combination and there AREN'T extra boots? That's like Mecha 101! God Ginrai, Goldran, Go Onger had TWO layers of boot addons. What gives?

 

Come to think of it tidalwave is the only combination/powerup bot that doesn’t become boots i think

 

IMO I think FH Armada Megs should be as big as Fans Hobby Archenemy. That way he would be able to scale well with other MP figures. Since Armada Optimus is almost 8 inches tall and Megs is only a head taller than that RID Scourge will probably be a head taller than Megs. As someone who likes to display Transformers from different series together in their collection I don't like the thought of Armada Megatron being shorter than RID Scourge. Also what if someone wants to do a MP scaled Megatron crossover shelf in their collection? Armada Megs will probably be dwarfed by MP-36, it would just look awkward. I think if he were to be the same scale as FH Archenemy though he would still look good next to Armada Optimus, they would just be more in the video game scale which I think is superior anyways.

 

I just thought they could (if they wanted to rescale) rescale all the armada bots according to the dreamwave crossover which had megatron roughly Galvatrons height from memory

 

It's probably something to do with Megatron's ego "I am much tall enough thank you Thrust."

 

"If I can't be as tall as Prime, I shall surpass him in width! Tidal Wave, break apart!"

 

Armada Overload and Cybertron Wingsaber don't. Probably because in either case, Optimus Prime supplies his own boots (Jetfire also subs, in the first case). But still.

 

Overload and Wing saber also don't break apart into armor like other examples. Sure overload sorta partsforms, but you can transform him fairly straightforward with that rail system for his guns. If we want to he very technical, Wing Saber does add ONTO the boots with the ankle guns from his wings

 

The13Primes just blanketed power-up 'bots, with no specification as to the methodology, so I just provided a couple of examples.

But sure, if the power-up 'bot is going to split up to combine, then some form of boots or at least leg armour is going to be likely, in order to create a more balanced and integrated appearance.

 

I think with the shoulders Prime might even beat him in width.
