That's like Asking if Blindspot, All-american, Prodigal son, the tomorrow people, or You have any connections to the Arrowverse or Riverdale.

To be fair, Alita's eyes in the original manga were not literally 2/3rds of her head and you could get side views of her head.

Craig McCracken literally is on record as saying the original show had a policy to never use side views of the girls (though there are rare examples that are in the final product)...for reasons the revival clearly ignored.

You just need to look at the 'pitch meeting' parody videos on Youtube with the photoshopped big eyes to see a glimpse of how horrifying trying to even approach the look of the girls would be in any kind of live action.

I'm looking forward to this, mostly because it'll be like watching a train wreck that you can't look away from. Plus, it will give me something to laugh at. At the very least, the girls will be insanely attractive like all CW shows, but the stories written as if they hired middle school kids.

I will try watching this show when it comes out, because I really liked the series (and the anime too) and a continuation of them as adults have peeked my curiosity. But I will be entering it with very low expectations because it also has me worried. (Not because it's CW, but because I'm not yet sure of what the story will be)

Edit: Will they keep blocking out Miss Bellum's face in this one?

Wow, this gets "better and better".

    ICV2 Article

So the guy behind the Arrowverse (Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, Legends, Batwoman) is helming this with some lady who wrote Veronica Mars (never heard of it) and... the girls are grown up, depressed 20-somethings who are jaded and feel they missed out on their childhood by fighting evil all the time. (I guess these people never watched a single episode or they would know most of the time the girls do just everyday school and kid stuff)...
At this point, I MUST watch this. It will be a glorious trainwreck. :D

Powerpuff Girls: Tartakovsky Says the Live-Action Show Could Work, but Questions if It Will

"The lines between live-action and animation are so blurred. I think anything could work. I mean, Dexter can work, and Samurai can work, and Primal could even work if you have a cool CG. I mean, if you take something of quality, Jurassic Park, animated T-Rex, and you have a big burly caveman with her, it can be super cool. It's super expensive, the jungle has everything, to make it look and feel right. You give The Revenant feel and tone to Jurassic Park, and all of a sudden now you got something crazy. So, I think everything can cross over, But does it need to? Does it want to? Is it deserving?"

"When you try to do a certain thing and then you're successful at it, and then somebody else takes it, and now is gonna make it a different thing, is that good? Is it bad? I mean, they made an anime from Powerpuff Girls. And then it was like straight anime, it's like, 'Oh yeah, it lost a lot of some of the charm that I thought we had in the American version.' But it was good in a different way too. So, that's the thing. It's always, 'Who's gonna do it? Is it gonna be sincere? Is there a purpose for it besides just, 'Oh, people know Powerpuff Girls, so let's do it.'"

    "I guess we'll see. It's certainly interesting."

So Genndy is open to the idea but he seems overall on the fence, taking a "wait and see" approach.
Meanwhile, I just expect this to be a nonsensical trainwreck.

Just because you can live action all the things, doesn't mean you should.

Darker and edgier adult version of a show or comic is a joke for a reason.

It's the CW it's very unlikely this isn't happening. But this may backfire on them big time.

Of course it's happening. And, of course it's going to go on for 8 seasons. Because it's the CW, all they air is trashy dramas like this.

It's those darn secret contracts that the producers trick the networks into signing.

What? There's no tricking. Trashy shows is the entire CW business model. As it has been for the last 20 something years, long before they were even the CW.
