Haha. Great way to clearly state it. I think box sets are only cool if you buy it in person. I’ve never been interested in putting a large sum of money down on something that will eventually come, when i enjoy spreading my payments out cause there’s a good amount of space and time to work with.
Oh kewl. I like the combining weapons concept. Not done enough except for occasional swords.

I feel like the estimated wait times as listed by eBay are massively over-exagerrated. I ordered something a couple of weeks ago from Hong Kong/China, and the estimate said I shouldn't expect it until the middle of September. It only took 4-5 days. Also to Canada. Hope that's your experience as well.

I think eBay and baba both are being conservative with their estimates in case things get as backed as they were back in Spring and early Summer. I had a multiple international packages from China and else where take at least two months.

    Ebay:
Yeah, I don't know. Even before than pandemic it was taking around 2 weeks for me to get stuff from China. Haven't gone the ebay route lately, but my last three orders from ShowZ was Capone (shipped late November, arrived around Valentine's Day), Cell (shipped mid-June, arrived at the end of July), and KO MP-44 (shipped August 11th, hasn't arrived yet).

I'd imagine it's because it's a huge expense in one hit in a very uncertain economic climate.

I would rather have the Decepticon symbol from the Bay movies since it is a "modern tank" :D

You know, it kinda bothers me when people like Skullface refer to the partsforming-free engineering of this set as a "gimmick."

Gimmick (n): a trick or device intended to attract attention, publicity, or business.

It's not just a trick intended to attract attention (unless you want to consider the entire concept of "robots that turn into other stuff" a gimmick). It is a central piece of the engineering that has concrete advantages and actively improves the playability of the set. It's a feature, not a gimmick.

I think the gimmick begins with the fact that it combines into one big robot. How it executes that gimmick is just engineering, and some cannot do it like the show suggests where everything transforms out of the individual members only. Some (most) just can't meet that standard the show set and absolutely need parts to come in from elsewhere, regardless of if they store in other modes or not.
Don't take anything BSF says as truth (as in, decide for yourself), he's just a guy who often gets a lot wrong or skewed incorrectly due to a poor understanding on his part.

Might be a simple case of consumer mentality. Easier to justify buying individual releases as they come then one giant 500 bucks boxset. Just guessing here though, I don't know for certain either. Not really into the business side of things.

He's allowed. It's not really what he's looking for.

I’m watching the review now, and I’m thinking that his personal tastes misses the fact that Blast Off is a triple-changer. Sometimes, we must have realistic views of making real world toys that looks like a cartoon that cheated on the designs all of the time. But as I said before, it’s his personal opinion, and he’s looking for something else out of the figure than someone else would be. Just the expression of a feeling.

Bobby wants diecast robots covered in paint, transformation and alt modes be damned. If Flame Toys started a Sunbow line and promised to do all the season 1, 2, and movie characters he could quit buying transforming toys entirely and probably be a lot happier.

That's not at all what I want, which is why I don't go nuts over Fans Toys the way he does and think Volatus is one of the best toys I've bought this year.

Exactly right, all he wants are high end articulated statues. Every once in a while I catch myself getting pissed during his reviews (of non Fans Toys figures), and have to remind myself he’s a display only guy, which is the other side of the planet from where I’m at.

It was refreshing to see him crying about something besides a figure not being fully painted, for a change. Although he did the proportions of this figure no favors by not using the hip joints properly to spread the legs farther apart.
