Wow...if I wasn't already sold on him, that review would've done it. Sure I have a couple of qualms with him, but there's no denying that it's a really good figure.
Looks like a fun transformation...so simple, and very tiny. I like that the headsculpt actually has a pronounced chin. And ankle joints haha.
I honestly thought I was done after Titan Skorponok. *sigh* Looks like I'll be keeping a closer eye on Kingdom than I had anticipated.
I do wish that they had put a hinge in for that bot mode heel so it could fold under the foot in beast mode and didn't look like a weird mutation coming from the rat mode foot.
(In Elton John voice) Hold me closer tiny Rattrap..... I kind of was hoping for 'Rat Armor' for larger Kingdom figures. Because a larger Rhinox or Cheetor with fur armor would have been AWESOME.
No doubt about, this is the Rattrap I want in my life. After decades of disappointment in the early Beast Wars figures, I can finally start to set things right.
I’m still in, but that review was a turn off. don’t like the articulation scheme, the headsculpt is a bit odd, and I don’t like that they’ve already tossed the effect part attachment points aside. really hope the rest of kingdom is better than this
If anything, I hope there are more BW characters released in this class so they can bring the good old days of Basic-size figures. I need new Razorbeast, Armordillo, Snapper, Razorclaw, Claw Jaw and others.
I think I\'ll be sticking with my thrilling 30 Rattrap (it\'s nearly perfection), but I can definitely see this being colored blue in an exclusive to make packrat.
People are already complaining about the size? And complaining about the simplicity? Constructive criticism, even complaints are ok but this figure is literally supposed to be small and it's more simple than other WFC Deluxe because it's a Core Clasa which is supposedly the new Legends Class. As for scale, has WFC not proven itself already? Voyager Tigatron, Deluxe Cheetor, Voyager Primal, Leader BE Megatron etx Core is the right Class and he is the right scale, he was the smallest Maximal, hes a mouse. Kinda reminds me of those who complain about Thundercracker and Skywarp being repaints of Starscream, idk maybe they never watched G1 and maybe those complaining about Rattrap being small never saw BW?
"Jowls"/the plates on the side of his face look too large proportionally and are angled weirdly to me Weird permanent plastic surgery grin that just looks unnatural Angle of the brow isn't sharp enough Chin looks a little too big and the mouth is too high. The T30 isn't perfect either but this one just immediately struck me as off.
Honestly? I can't see any of what you describe, beyond the obvious fact that as a small-scale toy the edges are all rounder, but the mouth looks right (factoring in that it's open and not closed like in the second pic) and everything else, the angle of the brow and cheek guards, look dead on. Maybe it's the lack of colours doing it?
Well I can see why they couldn't do the ports all over him like the Deluxes, voyagers, and leaders (to some extent) he has ball joints which this is a risk/reward situation. More posability just no weird combinations with weaponizers/modulators/fossilizers since the weight could loosen the ball joints.
To be honest I don't want those on the Beast Wars figures. They just come across as 'unnatural' to me, even for robots that turn into animals.
