He is cool! Also, unlike Gen which takes more to actual rat, Kingdom seems to take more on his old BW toys?
i love that they didnt go with the pure animation look just so that there is still a good reason to get the MP BW as that line slowly chugs along. Like why bother spending over $100 for something that has a retail alternative that isnt all that different. What theyve done is create a different art style. The biggest things that im curious about is whether or not the some of the dinosaurs will have feathers, how well the line reuses molds, what will generation selects provide, does that rumored headmaster listing thing imply mutant heads, and what is the spiders golden rack lookin like cuz every figure of her has been censored in that way and so was TFP arcee.
I'd love another Packrat! Especially if they remember and keep his Art Carney based personality! I'll take three of Packrat as well!
This guy looks really neat, pretty good engineering for what is essentially a more articulated version of his original toy. I does not beat the t30 version nor does it try to do so, it\'s a new version of the character at a size that fits the current scale hasbro is going for, and at a 10$ usd pricepoint, it\'s an excellent opportunity to get the character. I can\'t even begin to imagine how good the rest of the Kingdom assortment will come out as far as BW is concerned.
I would. Rats are the best rodent for a pet. All mice and gerbils I ever owned bit. I owned 3 rats. Not one nip ever. They also are intelligent and learn tricks. Mine would play around in my room and then go back in cage to do business. Most the time they just came to me and hung out with me.
I really like it. The face sculpt captures his slight jutting jaw or something it looks more accurate a head sculpt than T30. The long body small head reminds me of his beast machines form a little. I'll be cutting those heels off. It sacrifices balance maybe but it'll make a great improvement to beast mode. That gun storage is cool and the gun looks great too, totally works for the character having a nice gun action. Customs of this are gonna rock too, cheap figure you guys.
Agreed! A non self-destructing BW Grimlock would be great! On that subject, if Rattrap, considering his tiny size on this version, looks this good with transformation pattern, sculpting on the robot mode head, face and details, and the engineering, imagine how Dinobot could potentially look! I'd love to see how they'll translate his robot mode, into this new realistic beast mode/cartoon accurate robot mode style. A Grimlock on top of that would be great!
I also think kids would love the idea of a rat/mouse sized toy rat that turns in to the robot. Freak out family members. Also, Rattrap being this small means lots of fun photo ops. Kingdom BW Megs eating him. Kingdom Dinobot...eating him. Kingdom Airazor carrying him off in her talons... Basically a whole series of Rattrap being hunted.
That is not something I really considered. I wonder if they would do that? I honestly don't know whether I'd like it or not; I'd have to see it. For so many years, Dinobot has a certain aesthetic to him in my mind; I suppose we'll have to wait and see.
Scale in TF has always been silly. If they do Core for Rattrap, they'd have to do it for TM2 Blackarachnia, TM Rattrap, and Airazor too. Even going by the cast pic, those characters would have to be closer to Deluxe to be in scale...so we'll probably never get a 100% scale accurate line of mass retail Beastformers.
Waspinator is female?!? Mind blown.... I'll probably transform this guy once or twice as he is just a basic essentially. I said he'd be displayed in bot mode though, so in that respect, the beast mode won't be seen in my display. However I usually don't transform anything bigger than a Deluxe usually (unless packaged in alt mode) because my left hand has shooting pains that go through it anytime I try doing anything that requires squeezing my fingers together or pressing them against anything with minimal force. So yeah.
I got about 500 Transformers including dozens and dozens of Legend size figures. I would say out of my entire collection I have only transformed a dozen or so figures and some of them out of necessity since I display all my figures in robot mode. I grew up with the original 1984 Transformers cartoon and having representative of my favorite characters as a kid brings me great joy. I also am clumsy ,double jointed in my fingers, have bad arthritis so I know if I were to transform the figures - I more than likely will break them. Even if I didn't have arthritis, I still wouldn't transform the figures since I rather use my Imagination and I haven't played with any toys in decades and decades. Transformers, to me, just represent my happy childhood.
Kingdom has the best headscuplt for sure. I really dig it. Overall, I actually think it's the best rat mode other than the back end, but it's... growing on me? The new figure definitely has a lot more personality. I like that the rat ears aren't covering up the robot head as much as the T30 did. Better articulation, tail is beter hidden in robot mode. Seeing them lined up like that, I think this is definitely the best official release we've had.
Rats are amazing pets and if I wasn't allergic to pretty much anything with fur I'd probably own another. I had one rat and he was honest to God one of my favourite pets I've ever had.
