What, so you're saying all that time he was in space he was still a truck?

I mean, when he actually returned to Earth in Barber's Transformers he had yet another different look with actual truck parts.

I have not purchased a major 3rd party figure (minus a few legends scale Minibot figures) since MMC Tyranatron and I cannot wait till this comes out!

Basically. He left Cybertron before the others changed modes so he had no reason to change once he left. And he took on a different design when he returned to earth.

The more I look at this the more he reminds me of WFC prime. And I love that little deluxe! Bring it on!

That is indeed his Earth truck mode from the earlier ongoing series (before the RID / MTMTE relaunch). Milne (MTMTE's artist) draws it in a more stylized (and awesome!!) way, but you will notice all the details are the same:

I certainly wouldn't complain if MMC made a figure of this design, but it's definitely an Earth mode, and it's already been made by Generation Toys, GCreation, and ToyWorld/Zeta.

Clearly the solution is for MMC to start a separate line of Earth mode IDW figures. Then I can finally, FINALLY get a good Earth mode Arcee!!!

But that's just me being greedy. I'm glad we're already getting so many awesome MTMTE figures. Keep 'em coming!!

Engineering seems to be based on kultur's. Could be completely wrong though.

It's a variation in a sense I feel. The arms go under the legs, I am guessing. But no, this is not Kultur's transformation.

I agree, but engineering wise I feel it's similar. A few extra joints for the shoulders and chest. The forearms look oddly similar.

Look, this version is bought no question. How’s about Josh’s creamy pastels on a repaint?

Yes, when he was in space he still had an Earth truck alt mode. He scanned a new one when returning to Earth, many because that new alt mode was his combiner wars toy. If they didn't have to work in the new toy design they probably would have continued with the original.

As RVDA said, reformatted is more about cybertronian alt modes, so this is what we get.

And to clarify what we get is an OPTIMUS PRIME MADE BY MMC. Those are a series of words when strung together only reflect their own amplified awesomeness.

Man looking at things side by side, I see why I like the Stormbringer colors and design 100x more.
I feel like a Stormbringer remold could be one to three convention exclusives away.
Already preordered so gonna have to wait and see what happens, but if they do a slight remold for Stormbringer colors, I'll probably just paint the initial release to Delta Magnus Colors.

After reading everyones comments about PSX I said screw it and canceled my BBTS pre-order and went with PSX. I just didn't want to pay for him right now lol. But F it tho, last figure I have to worry about paying my pre-order for come release time. Love MMC's work, I'm just getting into the IDW comics. I recently picked up the entire Phase One hardcovers. Finished reading vol. 1 I'm on to Vol.2 now and this Optimus Prime is up for preorder, that's funny.

The only way this would be better is if there was a shattered glass variant with hella battle damage and a few spikes.

Hey, if they want to make it I'll support it. I won't buy it, but I'll yell on these boards with you for them to make it as a show of solidarity.

As long as I get MY deco FIRST!
