What are these “details” I keep seeing folks whine about that’s missing? And why do some think it’s going to be 300+? Please don’t say nothing STUPID like it’s due to MP-44 price. A larger heavier figure with a rather large trailer and a ton of accessories. Please don’t tell me this is the basis of your exaggeration.

*sighs* I wish I still had faith in Masterpiece. They make such beautiful articulated figures but lo, they are not designed for the heavy handed. Happy for those of you who wanted it, if It proves to be durable I might hop back into it as I don't have any seekers in my collection at this point.

$250 would be a sweet compromise in price, with dealers selling for $225 or $199.

I haven't read all the posts, but that face is super preliminary right? I know the pics are blurry, but that looks uber bad.

Yes, this is what is called a "block prototype." It is just the general shapes of things based off the digital design. A sort of proof of concept for the transformation. They add the details in later prototypes.

Im sure im one of those folks youre talking about here... As far as the "split" between the fandom, and i dont mean this towards you.
But "toon accuracy" isnt what the old school collectors are looking for at this point in life.

Not to spew hate on anyone for liking/wanting this toy; but us "old folks" just want to see a complete lineup at this point, to be finished. Not a redux of everything we already have.
(And yes, i have all 6 seekers in some shape or form and am GRATEFUL for what i have.)

I know you personally and i KNOW you know my feelings on this and i dont mean to drive a further wedge into how you feel; but this THIRD starscream is just another "knife in the back" to why so many people have turned away from takara; thus, in MY personal opinion has had a part in what has driven up prices along with parts count and engineering. (Which IS a positive in all of this)

This is an un-needed update that will obviously take up more time in the future (to "announce" and "release" the other seekers) rather than making robots that havent been made yet.

As far as discretionary purchases go, and based on the line’s aesthetic and articulation standards as they are, I would say that a new SS and his seeker bro’s are definitely ‘needed’.

Regarding the oft-stated point about re-dos “taking the place of other robots”, I don’t think we’ve ever had any guarantee from TT (although I’m happy to be proven wrong) that we would be seeing the entire cartoon cast, let alone the individual favourites that people have.

For all we know, a V2 SS of some sort may have been on the cards as far back as when MP-11 was released - I’m not aware of any of these things coming with a statement of “BEST AND FINAL VERSION” on their boxes, so I think it’s just easier to hope for the best, and try to find the positives in what we end up getting.

I say all of this as someone who is obviously craving a particular character heheh.

    Agreed.

I sold all my G1 MPs when I seen they were going toon accurate, and announced bumble bee amd prime redos.

I mean..at this point...all I can do is shake my head, and say "I guess..."
This iS what hasbro has been doing for a very looong time now. Remaking the same character over and over, and fans buying it. It wasn't too long ago when people were paying serious money for a V2 coronation starscream..now those wil be selling cheap on eBay and the cycle continues.

I'm really glad I'm over the G1 stuff. That roller coaster ride was becoming a mistress..or a chore..

Hey..im glad for you peeps that are happy...but piss on Hastak G1 MPs...

I dont know.. I want to be optimistic and definitely wanna get this guy, but I feel like because there\'s no photos showing off a waist swivel, there might not be one at all (I mean look at mp bumblebee 2.0) - and that to me would be a huge letdown - especially when it comes to potentially animating this guy in stop-motion. Hope I\'m wrong though!

You are right. They have a hinge that allows for a really deep waist bend, but there does not seem to be a waist swivel.

Wow, that's disappointing if that's the case.

DAMN this is impressive, as are the colorations certain members are so kind to do for us! Looks like we're gonna have a figure truly deserving of the Masterpiece name on our hands here. The posability, the cartoon accuracy, the clean look...maybe it's cause of the recent Justice League Snyder cut trailer, but the song "Hallelujah" comes to mind right now as I'm looking at this thing. I can practically hear that song in my head. Hell, I daresay I could sing it...

Wait, no...scratch that last bit, I know how these boards are. I don't wanna give ya'll any ideas...

    ...It's already too late, innit?

It's un-needed to speak for TT targeted market--Japan where every major anime character gets multiple versions of action figures.

He looks great and all but wow he seems needlessly over-engineered.

I'll put it in car terms, using the Mustang as a guide here. Right, so, different Mustang body styles are built on different platforms, the current being S550...the one I own being S197, the one predating that being SN95. So, the SN95 Mustang platform was introduced in 1994, lasted until 2004. In 1999, a facelift came out, most commonly referred to as the New Edge. You look at a 98 Mustang, then look at a 99, and though the 99 is improved, it's still using that SN95 platform. MP03/MP11 work much the same way...MP11 is on the same chassis/frame/platform as MP03, albeit very heavily "facelifted", so to speak. This new version is a brand new, ground-up figure, on an entirely new platform. So MP03 is your launch version SN95, MP11 is your New Edge SN95, and this new figure is the S197 coming in to bring something new to the table. Hope that all makes sense.
