After some hard reflection, I’ve decided to wait for the regular Baroness release. I just can’t rationalize $20 for a bike that I’m only moderately interested in. Now if this were a Ferret or RAM, I might say otherwise. Besides I need the dough for Wave 2, Retro Spider-Man series, Black Series.....
I would def pay retail for the Baroness even with the ugly bike I don't want. I'm not going to go much higher than that though, so I might be waiting for a single release as well. Hopefully they do a good one.
I've never seen any Classified figures in my area, but I did find a rack of the retro line today in Walmart. They had Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow and Baroness.
Currently have Baroness posed on my shelf, all geared up. Not sure if I want her holding both of her handguns or a handgun in one hand and her snake laser coiled around her other arm.
The bike reminds me of the "afterburner" that came with Marissa Fairborne in that TF/Joe crossover pack. Looks like a cheap, unarticulated hunk of plastic. Definitely not worth the same amount as the fully sculpted and articulated Baroness.
Not necessarily true. She is popping up now on popfindr one store at a time it seems. And one store in my area showed stock yesterday as 3, this morning as 2 and sitting at 1 now so slow seller there.
Still no sign of Baroness at my 18 area Targets. I check popfindr between 1,000 and 500,000 times a day. Roughly.
Messing with them and doing some re-posing, these guys have stolen my heart in all honesty! I still have the rest of wave 1, Beachhead, Block, and Baroness to open but it's all about the delayed gratification.
popfindr had (and still has) stock of 1 at the closest target to me and a stock of 3 at one a 10-min drive from my house. Went to the closest one this morning and confirmed that popfindr matched the target employee handhelds, but what was actually on the floor was a different thing entirely... in short, zero physically found at either store. Even checked behind a few boxes in surrounding aisles (but if someone hid them, I have no idea where they’d be). I’m speculating it’s something a bit more nefarious than that. But I did stop at a ross, Burlington & Marshall’s in the same plaza, and picked up a few figures & vehicles on sale to mix in with other joes. ...amongst them, a remote controlled, 1:10 scale Lamborghini Reventon Roadster made by braha for $35 & a 1:12 scale bmw r9t Scrambler motorcycle Made by maisto for $6. this look reminds me of that old movie, the great escape. ‘Liccssssenssssse and registration is the order for you to exsssecute trooper.’
Stopped at 2 Target and 3 Walmart and not a single classified figure in any of them. I've decided to abandon the hunt at this point. If I go to the store for something, I'll check the toy aisle but that's it. Scalper scum have ruined managed to take the fun out of toys.
There actually was a report going around that Hasbro severely underestimated the demand for these and is now playing catch up on production of these.
This is deja vu it’s like the 25th all over again only with social media and stock tracking sites but Hasbro still hasn’t changed
That is quite possible. I was talking to my brother and he was saying that there's talk that the Target exclusives may only be a one and done deal and may not see restocks. Hopefully that's not the case but if so this whole Hasbro Target thing has been a huge black eye for a relaunching of the franchise. My brother hasn't been able to find anything other than Roadblock within 20 miles of his place in FT Lauderdale and I don't show any stock within 20 miles of my place in Milwaukee. Between the Target exclusives that sold out in 2 minutes on the website, the fact that we have 3 redecos of Cobra Commander in the first 2 waves with 2 being exclusives and the fact that wave 2 gets 1 troop builder but 3 Commander per case..it just seems like Hasbro really dropped the ball here. I can't find any Cobra Island stuff up here but there's no shortage of $100 Cobra Troopers and $150 Baroness on eBay. The most aggravating part id Hasbro and Target are well aware of how poorly the Cobra Island wave was handled and neither of them have addressed it.
I know right? You'd think they'd have much more faith in the brand that more or less made them a prominent toy company back in the day with the 12" figures.
Very highly unlikely. There was another rumor going around that Baroness was limited to 600. The bare minimum of Hasbro orders is usually in the tens of thousands. At the very least 10,000. I get your disappointed and you’re not alone, I feel the same way. It really didn’t help that Target did not have their employees on the same page with corporate so it’s a mess to say the least. They were called out on Twitter and even clarified a release date but later that very day(of release), it was very obvious that not all store employees got that memo. Scalpers are cashing in on the perceived low supply but they’re always around, in-store you just gotta get there ahead of them. If you’re online and they have bots, good luck. Target didn’t help anyone with its mismanagement of the launch. Usually you could count on them to have a steady stream of exclusives(at least in my experience YMMV) but starting last year, they’ve got a programmer that is getting stuff locked from sale at random times. Also doesn’t help that Target is seemingly only getting 1 case in at a time. Hasbro is being Hasbro and skiddish with GI Joe as usual but Target was the one that I didn’t drop the ball but they did. Exactly man. What 1 of the Hassenfeld bro’s said at Joecon about ROC applies to the botched Cobra Island launch: “We can do better”
