Getting Sandstorm and passing on Megatron

 

I think it’s the lack of tank chest, that’s a look that differentiated both G2 Megatron designs from G1 Megatron. With this one it’s literally a G1 Megatron based robot mold with the G2 green/purple camo, so the homage is cosmetic only. The tank mode for this fairs better than the robot since it’s not too far removed from the original tank mode.

 

To my defense, what I should have stated was back when they were still doing the CW line, I wish they would have done this scheme with that mold for like amazon or something during that time.
Now with this reveal and the mold use I am totally 100% absolutely satisfied they used this mold to give us this version.



Now if the did a black G2 trailer for prime with a fake voice box... My inner 6yr old would be able to die happy.

 

You're kidding, right? Seige Shockwave's alt-mode is a spaceship that when you turn it upside down...it just happens to look 90% like his G1 gun alt-mode. Watch any Youtube video review of Seige Shockwave and you'll see every reviewer point this out. You mean to tell me that they couldn't have made a Seige Megatron spaceship alt-mode that looks 90% like a gun when you turn it upside down?

EDIT: And before you say that it wouldn't look like an upside down Walther P38...no kidding. This is supposed to be pre-Earth Megatron, so his spaceship (gun) mode would look more like a futuristic gun than an Earth gun.

 

You guys can make a thread or poll for a gun Megatron. You already knew going in that this G2 Selects Megatron wasn’t ever going to be a gun.

 

You're right. This conversation is just derailing this G2 Megs thread. This is the last I have to say about it.

 

It's me or toy companies(hot wheels,matchbox, etc) are launching reissues with the title " retro wave" , since these series fall of Cybertron and earthrise battle I've noticed they rebooted G1, basically all done in G1 is being reissued with these series, I'm not complaining or feeling sad but I don't see any evolution, TF G2 was one of the worst series ever but why reopening an old failure? G2 megs looks amazing but nothing like g1

 

Damn, I would love it if Hasbro did this after Kingdom. Then follow that up with a Unicron Trilogy year... it would be freakin' awesome.

 

G2 Megs doesn’t seem to be selling out too quickly. I wonder if he’ll end up being in demand?

 

It's worth pointing out that Siege Shockwave's gun mode wasn't marketed by Hasbro at all - their release doesn't consider it an official mode at all. That's presumably why he had to be released as a Leader - so that they could include the detachable extra pieces to give him a larger official alt mode that looked less like a gun.

 

Well, the previous one is still available from most places, isn't it?

 

Isn't the new Optimus basically the leader with no trailer? That'd actually be a solid idea.

 

What exactly makes the TR one better than this one?

 

The colors and it's a triple changer. I've always liked the Hero Megatron.
