I got mine after it started hitting locally, didn’t want to take a chance knowing that Squirrel Girl would shelfwarm and lo and behold, she’s shelfwarming as predicted with Cosmic Castle becoming scarcer. I pretty much thought the Rider assortment was on life support after the 1st year, I was surprised it survived long enough to include Professor X.
I think if they'd made her look a little younger it would've helped too. She looks a little like some of the older ladies in the office.
I’m mostly pissy that I can’t find the Target GI Joes, but a nice cheer up is finding Maverick and him being F-ing fantastic.
Yeah, I'm surprised it's still around considering how some figures never seem to make it to retail, and then you have others that get 50% off markdowns. But the retail chains must be making enough money off it for their liking or they wouldn't keep buying the assortment from Hasbro. Worst case scenario I can see it becoming a fan channel only thing to put obvious characters like Ghost Rider, Blaze, and Vengeance into if the line dies at retail before they get to them. Won't be this year though. According to the leaks/rumors we're getting one more Rider figure this year after Punisher and it's supposed to be Hawkeye on his sky bike thing. Which, honestly, I don't have a Hawkeye yet and that sky bike is damned iconic so I'll be purchasing that if it turns out to be true (no reason to doubt it though since Rektangular's sources tend to be on the money 99%). Yeah, that's another problem... they based her design off of older artwork where she was drawn to look more "mature' rather than the newer artwork that makes her look much younger. Honestly, I think Maverick is the standout figure of the wave and I've got everyone but the two Deadpool's.
Oh, that's interesting! Any idea if it's a modern or classic Hawkeye? I want a good classic Hawkeye, so I'd be in for that, but I feel like it's probably going to be more modern and I don't know if I'd bother then.
Here's a thought... what if next year they take four of the Ultimate Riders slots to do a Build a Fantasticar? Since most designs have it splitting into four separate vehicles about the size of a bike you could do four releases each with one of the FF in whatever costume they haven't done yet and it would sell like hotcakes! Yeah, a "movie-inspired" version was in that line. But we haven't had a Toy Biz version since their Legendary Riders wave. Unfortunately each time Rektangular has brought it up in his YouTube videos he hasn't mentioned if it's going to be classic or modern. I'm hoping for a classic version myself.
Decided to take my MJ custom from less "in da club" to more everyday casual. Still kept the choker, though. Used the MJ head, Claire Temple body, Black Widow heels, and Typhoid Mary hands and choker. Definitely need to redo her neck paint and touch up the drybrushing for the jeans, but all-in-all I like how all the parts work together.
There's needing to prioritize and then there's unprecedented issues caused by Covid-19 delays. This year is worse for pre-ordering because you never know when something comes in and they tend to pile up after a few months of nothing happening. Case in point I've had a few things meant to come out February still sitting in my pre-order que. You budget for things, you set aside funds, you make bill payments and then you get hit with more at one time than you bargained for and you're suddenly in the red through no fault of your own. Going forward I am definitely going to plan better and probably drop several lines from my usual order strategy. I don't really want to cancel too much because I don't want to get a black list on their site, BBTS is my go to place for convenience and I just like the atmosphere there, so I'm working towards a better strategy for handling these Covid delays so I can catch up with all the sudden influx of orders due end of year. (More than likely.) Isn't that technically committing some kind of fraud? Sounds like a decent enough strategy, but it could lead to legal action, best not to try that. At least on my end.
@Scrapper6 I hear you. It's like watching a blocked hose swell up in a Looney Toons short. You just have to watch that backlog and not let it get too out of control.
That's good to know. My card on file is due to expire soon, and I have several pre-orders that should be fulfilled after that date. I was kind of concerned that they would cancel my order without a notification.
Nah, they always send me an email saying the card was declined and to either fix the payment information or change my payment method. They give you four or five days to do so and keep your preorder or it will be automatically canceled. I've never had any issue using this method and I know plenty of people who do it. In fact, I got the idea from a couple of people on this board. Basically once my bank card expired I just left the old one there and added a new one as my secondary. I do it mostly because I don't like surprise charges since even though they claim on their website they'll send out notices when the preorders are incoming they generally never do.
How would it be fraud? He's not frauding anyone, he's just using it as a dummy card. I used to do the same thing with Amazon.
Fraud per say wouldnt fit because he is using HIS card, just not his current card for one, and secondly because nothing actually exchanged hands. He didn't aquire product and they didn't aquire a fake charge. While there could be some ethical question to the practice (and not saying there is or isn't as it is none of my business and doesn't need debate on a public board) I can not think of any law being broken by doing this.
Found internal listings for some futrure Spider-Man legend figures in Walmart’s system. Unfortunately they are code named after things you find in the ground. SPD Legends Sulfur 8 EAN: 5010993790951 SPD Legends Sandstone 12 EAN: 5010993790937 SPD Legends Sapphire 13 EAN: 5010993790920 SPD Legends Shale 7 EAN: 5010993790913
Well, maybe Sandstone is more of literal codename, cause I could use one of him. Almost read Sulfur as Surfer at first too.
