Chiming in on this: the T-posts housed inside Onslaughts legs are indeed ratcheted. These take a lot of weight once Fraudo is attached and stand up well - no pun intended. The other connect point is where Onslaught's toes attach to the rear wheel point on Fraudo. This isn't ratcheted because it doesn't need to be. It functions more as a stabiliser because all the work is done by the T-piece.

Weird. The inner Onslaught hip joints, the knee joints and the upwards shoulder joints all have a specific metallic click sound to them on my copy. The forwards are all plastic as are the external hip joints it seems.

Well apart from the ab crunch, but yeah there’s a lot of ratchets.

I think MMC don't know how to make good ratchet joints, TFC would have done better in that regard.

It doesn't have diecast ratchets, in fact I have never seen a metal ratchet in a transformer, NEVER. The metal sound people hear is the metal spring.

I was talking about the limb bots hehe... MMC don't use ratchets as much as I would like.

Sorry everyone but I'm having trouble finding the combined height for this set. I heard he's bigger than the other 3rd party combiners out there? Why would they make him bigger if Toyworld/Zeta etc already have a good scale going? Was probably going to get Zeta Bruticon since I have Zeta Superion on the way, and have Toyworld Constructor.

Just a quick pic, I’m doing errands, so this is all I can get. I think like 20 inches to the top of the shoulder (knees are slightly bent).

You heard way wrong or you're talking about his height to the tops of his shoulders. Assaults is shorter than Zeta to the head, around the same height as Titan Devastator.

Ah gotcha, I was going off of this quote actually. So really he's a little short for MP scale. Another reason I'll go Zeta. thanks

Which I'll laugh if Takara Raiden finally gets revealed and invalidates the bigger scale. In the end though, I buy everything because I love transformers but still, "MP" scale combiners aren't to any official scale yet.

    There are 3 possibilities:
    1. Takara goes with the Constructor scale
    2. Takara goes with Assaultus scale.
    3. Neither.

I don't see why this is in a better position than 1.

Also a ONE off Combiner from the official folks would not invalidate most people's collections. Most people aren't even into Raiden. It's a different story had the first one been Devastator.

MP Raiden hasnt been officially confirmed yet as far as i know but my bet would be either 18 or 20+ inches for an official MP scale combiner.

I see 3 as the most likely, but that's beyond the point, we will finally have an ACTUAL definition for MP scale, which will be the end all be all of the discussion. People can collect what they want, but the scale debate can end. (again, I own all the devestators, 3 menasors with 2 more on te way, etc. so to me it doesn't matter beyond the annoyance of scale debate here lol)

No matter what it is, it will be a nothing burger in the end for most of the 3P folks that is.

it honestly looks pretty great with the siege/ER lines...like most combiners do (potp predaking, cw devy and even the smaller warbotron sized combiners look good with siege deluxe adn voyager bots) except zeta/tw which look more at home with the mp bots but again there is no "official" size for mp combiner height form takara yet.

The scale debate will never end, literally never.

Optimus Prime can come to someone's house in person, put his hand on their shoulder, and say "The true correct scale is XYZ" in a kind dad voice, and that person will be on the forums five minutes later arguing that the only correct scale possible is ABC.

All depends on whether they'll go with pants.

On one hand they aren't afraid to use 'fake' parts, on the other they have some of the best transformation engineering (in parts) in the game. Could go either way but I'm tempted to side with them using pants as scale seems important to their current mp line and the combiners were huge. Granted they'll never make them as huge as some scenes but zeta/ft/dx9/xtb will be close(r) on others.
