I don't know how brutal the competition is in AZ so I can't say. But if you're nearby you can try your luck. I only ran across the sidecaps ones by accident, I can see them being easily missed. They were hanging out with a bunch of scavengers so it they are gone it'll be obvious.

So I ordered an Oerload for pickup at the mesa Walmart at 202 and az Ave. Went to pick up (drove up to Mesa from Maricopa) and they had grabbed a Scavenger with no Overloads in sight and wouldn't refund my money. Had to sign for it and then I can return it after 36 hours! WTF!?!? So still don't have an Overload! Pretty pissed off!

 

One time I order a set of tires from walmarts pick up an they sent them to the wrong walmart so I had to drive across the city to track them down. Once I found them it was to late in the day to have them installed so I just picked them up and put them in my car. Apparently the sales associate only scanned one of the tires and I received an email from walmart several days later telling me that because I never pickup the other 3 tires they would refund me. Needless to say but I've been driving on free tires ever since.

Moral to the story sometimes walmart fucks you and sometimes you fuck walmart.

So... a fellow toy hunter just let me know they've been spotting the Wave 1 GI Joe figures at Walmart here in Arizona.

Only Wave 2 is being carried at Targets now.

 

I haven't seen many Joes in the NW valley for a few weeks. Funny thing is I find more TF that people are looking for when I'm out hunting. Hasbro isn't fully behind the new 6" yet.

 

2 starscreams and 1 springer at Bealls on southern and gilbert. Lucked out and grabbed the last impactor they had.

 

The Power and Ray Target has a few Race Track Patrols and Astro Squads, and Star Wars Black Series Darth Vader and flight suit Luke. The Power and Ray Walmart has Classified Duke, Roadblock, and Scarlett.
The Power and 60 Target has a few Clones, a Snaptrap, a Skylynx, and a Scavenger (maybe that means Overload is showing up at Targets too?). The Superstition Springs and Southern Walmart has several Snapdragons and a whole pallet of MOTU in the big open area between the toys and pharmacy.
None of them had any Cobra Island or Retro Series Joes.

If anyone is collecting Power Rangers Lightning Collection the Alpha and Zordon sets are showing up at Walmarts. I got the only one at Power and Ray but Brickseek says there are still a handful around the area.
