As promised here are my shots that I wanted to share of my UCS Millennium Falcon build. Here is a comparison shot of the UCS Millennium Falcon with the reissue of the mainline Falcon, the midi-sized Falcon and the mini Falcon. Also a shot of the Millennium Falcon with the First Order TIE/sf. I felt that this is a pretty good scale shot of the two.
It has great articulation... Mouth on a hinge Head attached to neck via a ball joint Neck attached to body via a ball joint Wings are attached to the body via a ball joint - one for each wing Front legs have a ball joint at the knee and ankle - no articulation at the shoulders Back legs have full movement at hip (not sure what the connection piece is called and ankles are on a ball joint Tail is 4 sections 3 attached vial a hinge , tip of tail on a ball joint
I really want to check out the latest one they came out with. I have the older one (in the photo) and the one that came out with the Force Awakens (which is much better than the previous one). The newer one has a different top build which is interesting. Plus the engines are not that boring tube but pieces which is neat to see.
It’s more then just the top build, the underside structure is very sturdy, and it is the most swooshible version of the falcon that I own. pretty good vid on all of them
Dangit, just watched the video and yeah I'm tempted to get the newest one... I honestly don't care for the 2011 version. At the time it was awesome and I was jealous since I wanted it. Once I did get it into my collection after I built the 2015 version I was not that impressed with it any more. Although I'm tempted to get the 2019 version it just would be another Falcon in my collection unfortunately and I would rather have the display space... If I do get it, I'll probably dismantle the 2011 version and replace it with the 2019 since it looks much better (or dismantle the 2015 since I do have the UCS version).
I finished my giant Falcon the other night, its siiiick! Gonna get photos soon. I ended up finishing it on top of the tv wall unit so the kids couldnt get at it where I'm gonna keep it displayed anyways, but now im too scared to move it haha
Check your Targets. The summer sets are starting to trickle out more. (Still waiting for the new Hidden Side wave, though. I need that haunted castle.)
Bought and built the new AT-AT and what a beast! This is my first ever Lego AT-AT and it was a super impressive and tricky build. Loved the build and love the final model. Pretty hard to get everyone in the cockpit without making the sides pop off but overall a great build. The 173 dollars I paid for it was pretty shitty tho oof
Probably the 2019 version for the ease of availability. Plus I can always do touchups and bin the ST minifigs in favour of my OT ones.
I've been eyeing the UCS MF for a long while but I just don't have any room to display it, to be honest. Although I do own the TFA version of the LEGO system play scale and the latest 2019 version of the Falcon (haven't put either one together yet), I have been thinking about building the MOC version of the play scale Falcon done by a customizer (he has instructions available). It looks to be very well done and a good compromise on display space and swooshability to go along with the 20th Anniversary Slave I.
I'd go for the 2019 if I had the opportunity to pick one (and only pay retail price). Especially after watching the video between the three. So I'd say you are in a good point right now to pick one up. I'll have to watch that video later, but it looks like a good compromise. I do say if you have the funds and room definitely go for the UCS since man it is awesome. Since you don't have the room that would suck some of the fun out of it.
I've owned the 2004 version, the 2017 and now the 2019 version, and I gotta say the 2019 version is my favorite. It gets closer to the actual shape of the Falcon and it was a fun build.
