JESUS, ok.. mine just came in from show.z (6 days from china to the US!)

He's a little on the light side of some of my figures though I think he's about the same weight as MP primal. Legs have a little bit of wiggle to them, though they do have ratchets. otherwise joints seem nice and tight.

    edit.

Additional thoughts after messing with him

Gun is a bit too loose in the hand. It uses a peg like most other MP figures, but falls out. it'll hold if you don't mess with it too much, or pose him and then put the gun in his hand. The gun holds fine in his hoverboard mode.

I think it was a real missed opportunity to have either an alternate club to recreate the scene where he uses his backpack like a cannon, though you can add the effect parts to the "barrels" of the clubs to kind of pretend. Speaking of missed opportunities, they could have also included the shield he used briefly in the episode where he returned.

The multiple faces are nice, but the smiling face for bot mode looks goofy as all hell.

The backpack only really plugs in for bot mode, and only by a single peg on the right side of the gorilla chest. Otherwise it sits kind of loose.

The thumb does move but the angle of the thumb makes it near impossible to pose in any sort of interesting way.

While a lot of my post sounds negative I do think that the figure is really nice. It defintely hits a sweet spot for me, as TM primal was the absolute first transformer I ever had, and it brought me a lot of joy getting so unbox and fiddle with him. Hope everyone else enjoys him as well.

I don’t “play” much with my collection so sounds perfect to me. Considering an official never happening and I don’t see any other companies doing BW TM figures that are show accurate.

I don't think the "official is never going to happen" line is true because the name popped up in one of Takara Tomy's surveys regarding the future of the MP line, so they have at least considered it

That’s an impressive shipping time. Hope mine make it to the UK this week.

I expected him to be pretty light. He looks a bit like a mode kit.

How do you find the stand?

I mean I'd be shocked if it wasn't given the success of the MP BW line so far. They have to be at least considering them for the future.

I'm sure they are considering a lot. But if anything probably many years down the road.

Woke up to a shipping notice, so should have mine sometime next week most likely. Looking forward to it and time to decide what to do with the original TT version.

Hm, a potential issue might be that the BW metals toyline and cartoon (season 2 & 3 of our BW) was anything but a success in Japan.

Season 1 did good, so good that Takara didn't want to wait and made their own series, BW2 and neo, but interest waned during those and sales dropped. BW Metals apparently sold pretty poorly. Actually, it was this that made the choice for Takara to skip Beastmachines and create their own show with vehicle TF's and regular Autobots and Decepticons (Car Robots).

Considering those poor sales of the original figures it's not a done deal that the current succes of BW MP's is any guarantee for the line expanding in transmetals. I only expect MP from season 1, then BW2 and neo...and only then from Metals/transmetal versions.

I am considering going to Showzstore and canceling my TheChosenPrime order. Especially with those shipping speeds and more affordable.

I'm still waiting for mine to ship out. I'm hoping to see a notification soon since my GT-10W was so quick so ship after coming in stock, but my TE Bumblebee hasn't shipped and it came in around the same time as GT-10W so I dunno what the deal is with their shipping.

It was in a voting survey that happened I think around early 2020. People could vote for what MP they'd like to see in the near future and TM optimus and megatron were among the names mentioned. There was actually a surprising amount of beast wars characters that appeared in the survey so I don't doubt they have talked about it. Who knows? If by some miracle the TM optimus and megatron were ranked among the highest, we might see them in a few years time. Have faith my young padawan :D

My two arrived today and I have to say- it doesn’t matter how many pictures or videos you’ve seen, you’re not ready for the size of this guy!
He’s not a ridiculous monster by any stretch but it’s still a shock when the only TM Primal you’ve ever known is the original deluxe (or voyager... whatever.)

Now, I‘m only opening one and won’t be transforming him because I’m moving soon and will have to pack my whole collection up which is going to be a trialling enough experience without having to transform loads of figures as well. Although I really want to put this Gorilla on a flying surfboard!

From the brief play I had while posing him in bot mode, I can say it’s a great figure with solid joints and lovely, vibrant paint that matches the show model. The locking mechanisms on the stand-arm joints are a great touch and it has the potential to be very versatile. The gun to hand peg could be better though.

3P Beast Wars are doing a terrific job.

Edit: These may be my 3 least favourite character designs of the whole show and yet I really enjoy staring at the figures.

You should absolutely get it! It’s quite literally the crowning piece of my collection- lording high over every other figure.
