Mine has some paint flaking where the parts around the trigger connect.

 

I've heard there may be an issue where after putting the silencer on his gun mode, it's really hard to get it off again.

Is that true in everyone else's experience?

 

It is difficult and possibly leads to point scratches/chipping . There's a part you can sand down to prevent this.

Is this something most people have to do or is it just a few unfortunate MP36 owners?

 

Mine was a bit tight but haven't had major issues with getting it off or any paint problems. I sanded it down and now it's quite smooth to put on or take off.

 

IIRC there’s a way the silencer has to be rotated before attaching, to prevent the tight fit and possible breakage when removing.

 

I'm kind of out of the loop on this figure. Is it safe to assume I will need to get this guy second hand or through eBay? Like, he's never coming back in stock on the toy stores sites?

 

At this point he just needs a re-release.

It's sold out in most places. There are a few legit ones out there but the price has skyrocketed to nearly $500 on ebay. Doesn't help ppl are selling the KO around what the original was, even more so cause some don't label it as a KO unless you grill them about it.

Even in my case, I snagged a 2nd one from Robotoy Base (for a great price), I ordered it on June 12th and it still is pending.....

Not from what I can tell. I've compared the box art online, has the Takara/Tomy logo and it's got the glossy finish on the cover graphics that you're supposed to look for.

The parts that fold behind the arms in robot mode, has anyone broken them? I remember at least member reported those pieces broken. On my copy there’s a lot of tension when swiveling those pieces. Neither broke but just trying to see if it’s a widespread issue.

I did break a tab off the back waist plate skirts but it’s not a big deal since it still stays in place due to the pinned hinge to the side.

 

If you're looking to snag him NOW, most definitely. I had to snag mine from someone off of MyFigureCollection for a pretty fair price as I sold my original, which itself was an eBay purchase which I didn't have 100% confirmation on the authenticity of, though I believe it was indeed an authentic piece from research on my own. Though if you wanna wait, wait. Either way, you're probably paying around the same price, $225-250, though, outliers on both ends do exist.

 

Thanks for the insight. Actually, last week I finally found one in stock for $225! Should arrive in a couple days.  

 

I had this piece circled break off during a transformation a few months ago. I just stuck it back on and it stays in place, but has to be removed and put back on for transformation now.
