Is it just me or does the soulder missile not... fit as they seem to intend? There's clearly a groove along the bottom when pegged into the shoulder for one of the pegs on the backpack to slot in and make it solid, but to get tat groove over the peg, you have to push down and squeeze the backpack and make it all askew.


Am I doing something wrong?

Update: So i had the backpack put on the wrong way the entire time. Hah. I just stuck it on the back of the folded down part. Well now his missile sits nice and even.

I just got around to opening mine. I haven't had a change to transform him yet into bird or tank mode but initial thoughts are he could be a bit better. The figure design over all is fine and the paint looks good. But like some others have pointed out, his joints seem a bit loose. It's not to the point where he is a floppy mess but the shoulders and hips could be a bit tighter IMO. But that being said, nothing has fallen off at the knee or broken at the moment.

I have my backpack configured correctly but I noticed that the shoulder missile on my copy sits very loose on either shoulder peg hole. I might be able to fix that up with a little future polish but in the mean time, I have the missile pegged into the peg hole sitting right on top of his arm.

 

Update on using Finish on the loose thigh ratchets: it worked just fine. Doubledealer is no longer a floppy mess.


I don't have Skar, but Ratbat gets the job done.

 

Where did you put the finish?

 

Used a small brush around the ratchet joint, and rotated it profusely for the Finish to get in there.

taking this a step further and trimming a rectangle from the tail panel allows it to plug in completely flush with just enough room for the wingtips, and also lets you very securely plug in the whole missile using two ports, almost as if it was intended?

 

Managed to get the powermaster boys. Knok fits in solidly, but Skar doesn't stay in at all under his own friction. Anyone else encounter this? Is there a specific way to get him to stay in?

 

I just realized this same thing today, and I would LOVE to have a Machine Wars Soundwave from Doubledealer!

 

Going through the motions with mine. Found it nifty that Slitherfang can be plugged onto the 5mm ports near the shoulders in robot mode to be Doubledealer’s pet cobra. Fitting since this guy is a mercenary.

Feels good to get a leader figure that is this big without armor. For the price, I expected more but I do feel this is more bang for buck than some of the other WFC leaders.

Transformation seems fairly intuitive, the bird is only tricky due to the robot knees having to lock in(the black tabs), once you figure that out, it’s easier. The bird took the hit out of all 3 modes, surprised the chest plate doesn’t lock into anything in bird mode. Just floats there. Budget cut! The bird feet could’ve been tighter.

Missle carrier mode is cool but I favor robot mode the most of all 3. The gun could’ve had a longer 5mm peg too, it just barely fits into the hand.

Overall, satisfied so far, fun leader figure to play with.

Does anyone have the images of Double-dealer with the knee extensions?

 

Knee extensions exist? Where?

 

One of the 3rd party print companies like Dr Wu or Shockwave Lab had images in one of the many Earthrise threads. I can't for the life of me find the pics though.

 

I do have the powermasters but just grabbed the nearest cassettes. Rumble (is red) and black dr wu drone. My double dealer has tight joints must have lucked out.

 

I'm really enjoying this guy more than I thought I would. The bird mode is easily the weakest, but I got him specifically for his new "base" mode. I really did the way it looks and that it has the ramp connectors.

As much as I love this toy, one thing that worries me is the plastic quality. Going back and forth between Double Dealer, and Siege Ultra Magnus and Astrotrain, the plastic quality of the later two is noticeably better.

I get a strong Combiner Wars Ultra Magnus feeling with DD's plastic.

 

EEEK!!!! Well that sucks, because I really wanted this guy. That may be enough for me to pass on him though. My combiner wars Ultra Magnus' legs were destroyed and all cracked up right out of the box before even being transformed. I unloaded that piece of crap years ago.
