I would heavily prefer he gets his own mold new mold however so we can get a Selects Loudpedal and then a mold mate Road Rage out of it.

How is this not a 'proper' shot at doing Beast Wars? It's a dedicated sub-theme in a line dedicated to celebrating the past of the Transformers lines. All of them. 'GenerationS', not 'Generations(Only G1 though, btw)'

I find it baffling that some people want the entire line be catered to a select group of figures that get released over and over and over again, especially since BW has been pretty under-represented in the Generations line in the past. Now, I'm not all that keen on BW either, but I'm not about to say that the fans it does have shouldn't be getting this. And I could stand to not have another Voyager Optimus or Starscream for a year or so. It's a line for everyone, after all, even those who choose Munky over Trukk. I wouldn't be surprised if we get lines dedicated to the Cybertron trilogy soon. I can't imagine that Hasbro'd pass on the opportunity to sell the Unicron mold again, but with a different head...  

 

Why not Gorira? I've never seen one, but people loved them when they came out.... Unless it's the black Primal brick former you're after

If you look at the highlighted logo in the second picture, there is an obvious cluster of four logos. I remain convinced TO THIS DAY, that there should have been two more box sets. Maybe they would even have been POTP branded?

The other clues for me are the Arcee & Grotusque deluxes/Titan master packs and the Walmart clones twin packs that all pretty much came out of nowhere. I also seem to remember someone with a graphic design background thinking that the Arcee and Grotusque images somehow looked cropped, as if they had been taken from a larger image. I could be talking utter poppycock there tho’ so ignore me if need be!

The Magnus Deco seems (quite frankly) a little pointless *unless* you were going to release that remould with God Bomber? A leader class figure in another set perhaps?

So that’s potentially, two TMs, two Scouts/Basics, two deluxes and one leader ....I’m struggling to consolidate the two “missing” Voyagers and remaining Leader figure.

What I can’t explain is the utterly random “Beast Wars” teaser that is found twice on the box - it was clearly no accident and was hinting at something that didn’t come to fruition.

Juxtaposed against the collapse of major avenue of distribution,TRU and Hasbros purchase of the Power Rangers franchise at that time - Its easy to see why money was tight and these boxes would have been the first thing to get the chop.

I fully appreciate this is all utter conjecture and speculation on my part, but I’ve always found the processes (be they legal or marketing) behind what ultimately gets released quite intriguing.

I believe one of them was the cancelled Botcon Action on Hydrus Four.

 

What we don’t know is what stage they got cancelled and the figures moved around. You have already highlighted some figures that got released separately that could have been in the box, and one that didn’t get a release but you are sure about.

I am sure we are a couple of autobot target masters/powermasters short (Slapdash/point blank etc) that people have already highlighted as being easy retools/repaints - so maybe that’s where they would fit in?

Ive just seen the digibash by @ConvoyPrime2000 , yes - very tempted.

 

I've watched the first 6 episodes or so of jojo but didn't find it really gripped me to be honest.

Oh I've loved NGE since I watched it as a teen but it's far too reliant on secondary media to fully explain it all, spent hours on evawiki reading up on it all way back when. I wss just hesitant to watch the netflix due to the new voice cast but they've done an OK job to be fair.

As for the end I think the best way to think about it is to watch 24/25 and the end of Evangelion movie and put the 2 together. Yeah it's still very out there but I always liked the fact it did something different.

Interesting to see your musings on the box sets, I always agreed with the 4 box set theory but didn't know about the beast wars tease. My thought for one of the voyagers was a g2 megs seen as we got laser rod prime and takara did a g2 megs seemingly out of nowhere as well. No idea for the other leader but the other voyager could have been leo prime which takara did or the other mysterious one we've seen in takara comics is the blue repaint of astrotrain in energon omega sentinel colours.

 

And while the rest of the world is speculating and tin foil hatting over international celebrity child smuggling.... we are investigating the underground scandal that is the missing box sets!!

Part 1 is a bit like that I’m afraid. Part 2 starts on episode 10, if you want to give that a try. from what my experience most people get hooked on it rather than part 1.

 

Evangelion had to be experienced when it first came out - in '96. It had a very strong influence on Anime and other fiction, and was unlike anything before it. While both endings have their problems, at least they both try to tell you something - one focused on the individual journey, one completed the narrative in one of the most fitting ways (given that depression was still at the center of the narrative).

Now, when is Rebuild of Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 coming out? That will be the third and final ending ("Thrice Upon a Time")
