Owen is $19.99 at Entertainment Earth. For now he's the only one available there. Dennis and Dilophosaurus are still on pre-order while Malcolm and Blue are sold out. Amber Collection - Entertainment Earth
Wow, then Mattel can take that line and shove it. I'm not paying $30 for figures I wanted to use as background bystanders. I thought it would be fun, but apparently their idea of fun is ripping off their fanbase.
Bystanders? You mean the humans? Yeah, those aren't supposed to be $30. Nedry is $25 for... Mattel reasons, but Ian and Owen are supposed to be $19.99. Only the dinosaurs are $30 MSRP.
Can you help me understand why you think Mattel should make cheaper figures for you to use as background characters? Like 6" figures are $20-30 retail, this isn't a surprise. Given how they're going to sell far fewer of these than other lines, $30 it's not totally out of line.
$20 I get, but those are close to $30, which is too expensive. That's some Matty Collector bullshit right there. Also, have you not seen Mattel's quality? They're figures are prone to easy breakage and stuff. I've had more than enough DCUC and MOTUC figures to know that they use much cheaper materials than Hasbro.
Maybe you guys can tell me if I'm living in some alternate universe, but I swear I saw product images a while back of an upcoming release of the Attack Pack Gallimimus repainted to resemble the old Kenner Galli. I can't find a thing about it now. Does anyone recall this? Edit: Just found it, for those interested Mattel Jurassic World 2
It was one of the reveals from the previous New York Toy Fair. No other information or updates about it yet.
Yes, it and some other toys were erroneously revealed during Toy Fair, intended for release next year. See also the Mattel Troodon, the blue/white Plesiosaurus, gray Sarcosuchus, and bright green Albertosaurus.
Out of all of those (I think those are slated for a Q4 release, right? Or Q1 2021) is the Troodon and maybe the Albertosaurus repaint. Not much came out this year that I was excited for, honestly. I do like the direction of the Massive Biters and Soundstrike releases though. These guys really love their Stiggy, Dimorphodon, and Triceratops since we have had several repaints of those. I guess they are good sellers along with the raptors in terms of "budget friendly toys." I also believe a new Allosaurus was slated for release as a Soundstrike.
I kinda like Penguin Plesio, it's one of the more "believable" decoes that looks like somebody actually studied animal colors in nature rather than taking a rainbow-colored crap all over the paint-map design screen.
I am loving the Jurassic Park Amber Collection! I'm just waiting on my Nedry to ship. I hope they have an in scale, highly articulated Tyrannosaurus down the line. Until then the Super Colossal one will work.
At first I was a bit annoyed at the JP raptor just being a pre-deco of the Raptor Squad, but now I've been pretty happy with the line and eagerly keeping an eye out for Delta to restock.
Guys, do any of you own the new roaring T-Rex? If so, can you confirm its tongue is made of rubber? I’m concerned that it will deteriorate over time...
Yeah, I have it and it's rubbery. I'm a bit worried about that as well. Pretty nice looking figure overall though.
