Huh, maybe this version of Arcee will stick around.

A bit more meat to make an Arcee that isn\'t hauling most of her alt on her back.

For bumblebee it was because they needed to make it a toy right? This is actually part of the design, and it looks cool, like a tattoo. Though it does seem familiar.

Oh man I want them to make a toy of that Velocity design. I\'m a sucker for a Firebird.

    Yeah I meant for a character's design itself, not a toy's interpretation of a pre-existing design.

Both look good and nice to see 70's and 80's alt modes, out of the two Velocity is more my favorite.

Damn, Velocity looks awesome, but I gotta be honest I don't really care for the Arcee design.

Arcee- good solid design overall but the stand out features (to me) is the using her front quarterpanels to give more of her classic silhouette
I also like how her rear wheels are incorporated into her feet, like a variation of ER Cliffjumper's front wheels, just exposed.
Velocity- A fresh character, I am truly a sucker for a carbot whose design allows the wheels to potentially be used as wheels for the bot mode aswell.
A very nice design in my opinion. if she were released as a figure I want two of them, one to give a paint job like the attached pic and make into Flamewar.

I like these a lot would happily buy these if either deluxe or voyager scaled

These designs just look out of place in the comic, when Ratchet and Prime look like they are totally G1...

I love how Velocity has the same alt mode as Windcharger but looks so different and chonky.

I'm getting the printed version of this miniseris, and after #1, I've already decided I'm going to buy the TPB as well (hoping that it will feature Grimlock's cybertronian alt-mode in the bonus pages).

I honestly would love a third party to make masterpiece scaled figures of those Arcee and Velocity designs. I really love how they made them feminine but not to the point they can’t have kibble or more blocky parts. And the back kibble is a clever excuse to give her the classic shoulder pylons

Like look of arcee her calf’s are big and clunky non generation one looking more prime comparison look forward buy tpb for this series was entertained with transformers vs ghostbusters series but was disappointed let down extotron and prime got more attention from other Autobots fighting deception ghosts

Generation one prime , kup, hotrod toys possibly

I don’t mind new look for arcee is nice look at

Not everything in comics cartoons need generation one no one complain about energon, cybertron prime be firetruck , prime armada became non square semi truck when movie did it they complained .,
What’s point of transformers giant alien robots that evolve and advance there alternate modes if everything is going to be generation one style.,

not one complaint in shows up when arcee became bike in prime series, prime became fire truck and combined with ultra magnus not everything needs be generation one big boring blocky looking that be boring movies took another idea from cartoons and changed bots designs make them look more realistic give them different modes f16 jets are not around no more, super hero movies in comics costumes change over time

We are looking at same pictures are we I see same blocky ness that they always had no one complained when iron hide wasn’t van in cybertron who end up be baby sitter to human name kicker.,

Movies go step further that new transformer fans really like realistic looking bots not boring blocky cartoony don’t believe me Prove me wrong ASK. NEW. FANS what they like about live action movies that they will NEVER. EVER Watch cartoons, comics buy toys, video games could NOT. Accomplish over years turned people who HATED. transformers Into transformers fans. Movies. Made transformers popular all over again.,

No one complain about prime being flying fire truck it goes both ways cartoons did it first movies took ideas from cartoons

Milne is a treasure. Love how the flipped hood gives Velocity a baller back tattoo.

I think what they're trying to say is that the artstyle itself doesn't exactly fit in with the one in the comic (which I disagree with already, the designs are clearly 1984 but also are fairly "modernized" without looking like the 1984 cartoon).

An example of what I'm trying to get at is be the difference between these two designs for Drift both by Guido Guidi, one that's supposed to be retro and one that isn't

    upload_2020-8-12_9-33-46.png [IMG]

If the artstyle for the comic was made to look like the original cartoon I'd prefer the first one but for a more "realistic" one I'd go for a the second one. Regardless I'd say that despite Ratchet and Prime "looking totally g1", their designs in Transformers vs Terminator fit more with the second "realistic" example above.

The issue isn’t that they are different, like @MJY78 said, they’re nice designs (Velocity is a bit pointy for my tastes, but the concept is cool): what I believe @BB Shockwave is saying, and I said earlier is that they look distinctly out of place AESTHETICALLY compared to the other bots, with Velocity’s over the top pointyness and Arcee’s level of toyetic kibble, compared to the other bots having much cleaner, G1 cartoon-esque silhouettes. They don’t feel like they are from the same series, like if you grabbed a new mold RID’01 figure and stuck it in a RiD’15 display.

Agreed 100%. I noticed it right away and it’s especially noticeable in the page where they’re all standing together.
