Shame on you Nickelodeon. More cashing in on spin offs that Stephen Hillenburg specifically said he didn’t want, and it hasn’t even been 2 years since he passed away yet.
So both Squidward and Patrick are getting spinoffs. Nickelodeon is that family member who waits for the rich family member to die so they can do whatever they want with the money
To be honest, the idea of Patrick hosting late-night talk show is admittedly funny. However, this goes completely against what Steven Hillenburg said about spin offs. Please respect this man's legacy.
11:37 for Steven Hillenburg opinions on spinoffs "The show is about Spongebob, he's the core element, and it's about how he relates to the other characters. Patrick by himself might be too much. I don't see any spinoffs."
What a brilliant move to diversify their lineup! Instead of reruns of SpongeBob, we'll have reruns of SpongeBob, SpongeBob Spinoff 1, SpongeBob Spinoff 2, this... But really, couldn't they let one of these things come out first before announcing another thing that people don't want?
Just give me some DOUBLE DARE with Mark Summers and really drop that host they had. Plus bring back the guy that did the announcer and make Mark Summers as host and question reader like the old days. That's what i wanna see cause i love me some double dare.
OK I already didn't like this and that was before reading the other comments about how the show's creator didn't want any spin offs and that there were two other spin offs... Some times spin offs can be good. Maybe even better than the original show... other times it's just a forced cash grab that no one wanted in the first place. This is the forced cash grab. I have a feeling it's going to be like the Cleveland Show. I like Cleveland on Family Guy. He actually stands out as his own character. But on the Cleveland Show he just became Peter Griffon but he's black now... The shows were set up exactly the same way, three kids, a daughter, a baby, and a fat son... The talking dog is now a talking bear. He still hangs out in a bar with a group of three other guys. It's the same damn show. And they forced Cleveland to move away just to do exactly the same stuff Family Guy was already doing but with black people. It could of worked if the show actually stood out on it's own as something different the way Cleveland did on Family Guy. But he went from being the slow talking voice of reason in Family Guy to just being the Black version of Peter. Everything that made him popular in the first place was sucked away and replaced with a knock off of the show he came from. I kind of imagine the Patrick show will be the same thing. It's Sponge Bob but now he's a Star Fish... They'll have him doing all the stuff that SpongeBob would normally do which would be out of character for Patrick because there's no interest in actually doing something new with the character. They just want to recreate SpongeBob but with another character. That's probably why they're doing all these spin off. Maybe they figure if they throw enough of them at the wall one will actually stick... but that usually takes actual thought and effort to pull off.
I would not be surprised if Nick decides to just focus on SpongeBob, as others pointed out Nickelodeon is quick to cancel a new original series if its not as big as SpongeBob and Loud House, so its possible that from Nick's point of view that rather than doing a new IP that may not be as big as SpongeBob, lets do more SpongeBob spin offs cause they think those could be bigger hits due to being associated with SpongeBob theri biggest IP
Hey, atleast they give it a chance on their Nicktoons channel! Which is less popular and no one owns.
