You obviously have no clue how copyright laws work. Changing the name or modifying the design to update it is still, technically, IP theft. Hasbro doesn't go after that because it is harder to prosecute (especially overseas) but they absolutely CAN do it they wanted to. Make no mistake, changing the name, adding a member, or stylizing the drsign grants virtually ZERO legal protection.

This is why I think the gorilla will work well. Big, thick gorilla arms with heavy ratchets as the combined thighs makes a lot of sense.

I don't see why those parts would need to be diecast. If they throw diecast in, it would be better for the feet for added stability, in my opinion. I feel like in the crotch would just make it awkward to balance.

Hello. I'm new to the collector game, so I was wondering -given the experience you have- how much time should we expect it to take for CT to release the full 6 member lineup?

I understand that Covid has made everything complicated, but how long does it usually take for a 3p company to release the full team after they release the 1st member?

That can vary wildly, tbh. We've had two figures released so far and another is expected later this year, but we don't(insofar as I know) yet have even prototypes of anything beyond the third member.

That's precisely why I was wondering. So, is it, a full 5-6 member lineup all released within a year betwen first and last or could we expect 2-3 years?

Something I love that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere is the saber-toothed cat styling on the shoulder pads and the cattle-skull forearms.

I've looked at the photos of the cat (and the bird), but I can't tease out any similar details.

I'd hazard a guess that a 'team' takes 18-24 months?

Oh man... I do expect Cang Toys takes nothing out of the Overwatch2 or George RR Martin playbook :(

They're on track to get half the team out by end of year...that's a great deal faster than most companies. And they recently stated they are bringing more staff on board. I think the odds are good that we might see the whole team by end of 2021

Fingers crossed, I hope to be caught up by the end of the year, if not in the next month or two.

Not really a valid comparison. Longhaul didn't form the crotch and upper legs. He formed the lower half of the torso and the actual "hips" were that weird flat purple add-on thing.

But no. Nobody was saying that having a robot form part of a combiner was innovative. They were saying that making the necessary partsforming parts into more of a feature was innovative. And yeah, I guess. But other combiners used a separate simplified pants piece for actual reasons. Lightness. Stability. Keeping costs down. And I feel like those are more important considerations than having some new rando monkey hanging around.

I guess it's silly for us all to argue too much about the monkeypants until we actually see pictures, but paying $120 for a dude I don't care about who wasn't part of the original predacons just to be able to assemble predaking is not a selling point for me. But then I'm making an assumption that he's going to be a separate release and the same relative size and complexity as the other members, all of which might be false. He could be much more simplified like the crab hands dude and the feet hippo and included with razorclaw for the usual torso-bot markup.

Huh. I thought I saw on Weibo the other day that each foot transforms into a semi-aquatic reptile.

Essentially, Predaking will be wearing a pair of Crocs.

Alternate modes for hands and feet begs the question if it will also have a headmaster gimmick?

All this talk over whether adding the gorilla would avoid copyright, but the individual components don’t, which is how they’re sold. If they wanted to screw with it just ban razorclaw or another. Not ferocious obviously because he’s a sabretooth and definitely not a tiger called rampage

Why not, to prevent breaking issues at least diecast better than plastic

If they use a decent grade of plastic (which they do), then the benefits of diecast would be negligible compared to the problems it would cause for stability in combined, bot, and alt modes and stress on attached plastic parts in bot or beast modes. Contrary to what some think, adding diecast does not automatically make anything better. It can be nice, but I've got plenty that would have been better off without it.

Agreed. I've seen plenty of figures that the diecast weighs on their joints, making them less sturdy. No thanks
