Thanks. It's funny, I discovered that he's supposed to have an ab crunch today. Mine is so tight I assumed he didn't have one at all, and even levering away at it with a spudger doesn't get me any results. From one extreme to another, I suppose.

Well, if more reviews come in and they all say he's improved overall I may buy him to use as a base to make a Powered Convoy version. The black parts are already painted in, after all.

With WieJiang getting head-shotted by the Shanghai police, I guess this Aoyi mech is the only option available for an upgraded SS-38.

    Urgh.

I don't know if I should buy one now with all of the known QC issues, or risk waiting for a second batch and BMB also possibly getting nuked by the police....

Are there any others out there or is this one it?

Finally got mine and got right to work on preventative adjustments to the ankles and shoulders. My ankle rockers were pretty froze up and yeah; that peg does not want to slide out of them to allow me to sand or lube anything. In the end, I blasted some lithium into them and worked it in with my air compressor. I was able to work them free, but the ankle tilts are incredibly loose so that’ll take some Kiki’s.

My observations on the notorious shoulder panels: I haven’t tried transforming him yet, but it seems like you can just remove the screw entirely. They stay on rock-solid in robot mode since they wrap all the way around. The friction keeps them attached when I attempt to swing them around, but with no screw any extreme pressure causes them to just pop out of the socket. That is obviously way, way better than anything breaking so I don’t think those screws are going back in. I shot them with lithium, as well and I’m pretty happy so far.

edit: OK, so now that the Kiki’s is dry and his ankles are pretty stable, I attempted transformation and I am seriously glad I did not attempt to fart around with those shoulders. Removing the screw is definitely the way to go— he is easy to transform, but there are more ways to stress that swivel way the hell out than there are to safely get them where they need to be with no stress. Seriously, just take those suckers all the way out and be thankful those panels are now free to pop off if they have to.

Other than that, this is an extremely satisfying toy. There will certainly be bigger and more detailed version of Optimus available if you want to spend the coin, but I think I can safely say that this is definitely the best value on the 3P market if you want some incarnation of this character on your shelf. TW gives you a lot of detail in size, but he has those feet hanging completely off the truck and a complicated transformation. Fire Scorpion looks pretty good, but does he look an extra hundred dollars or so better than this? The previous Aoyi Mech release it way cheaper, but he definitely shows it. I think this guy is right on the money: not too expensive, plenty of detail, easy transformation, lots of features, and a great execution overall.

So yeah, shoot some grease where you need to and drop some Kiki’s anywhere that’s loose, ditch those screws in his shoulders before you attempt to have any funtime.. and you’ve got a 10/10 toy, here

I believe I posted this before before I ever received in the figure but now that I have received the figure there's more of a need for it than ever. To any of the 3D printer enthusiast. Do you think that you can make a rear bumper for this figure? I did a photo edit a while ago where I cut and cropped the rear bumper from fire scorpion and put it on this and it looks pretty good. If you do just leave a space for a license plate tell me how much you want! Doesn't even have to transform but if it does that's a bonus. I just want something to finish off the rear end of the vehicle . Doesn't have to be fancy . received_987177525036314.jpeg Also I received Boku bk02 trailer in the mail recently and although the original post does not fit the adapter post that stores inside of the reefer part of the trailer slides perfectly into the hole in the gun. The back tires are just a little too small but I don't really care that much. The trailer is the same exact width as this figure in vehicle mode. And there's enough space to allow it to do a complete turn in both directions. Very happy.. I'll post some pictures when I get home

    Hi all,

with all the recent attention on the upcoming WJ’s M-09 Prime, Thought I’d bring some attention back to this excellent figure. Got it for a bargain price at half of the cost of the WJ one. Granted I find the sculpt on the WJ one nicer but still this one has loads of nice details especially for the price.

Though prob not everyone’s cup of tea but I created a WIP post On weathering mine up if anyone is interested :D

Agreed; M09 might be the better toy in the end, and with WeiJiang folding I would not recommend anybody sleep on it; however this is 100% the better value. There’s just so much here for under $100.

In this video, M09 looks like it has a disproportionately wide body and short arms.

I just got this guy in today. He is pretty awesome, but man those ankles got some sway in them because of the plastic. Was finally able to finish my Triforce of Movie Prime shelf.

Still think this guy is sooo underrated.

He's going for $80 on Show.Z right now. Thinking of grabbing a couple for gifts this year.

It's ridiculous. Whenever people are talking about BB Primes they forget he exists. I've given up on reminding them.

This toy might end up being vindicated after toyworld and fire scorpion.

In my opinion this is the best version because it has the least flaws in both modes. Fire scorpion looks horrible in my opinion the proportions just seem wrong. And the legs don't transform. Freedom leader has too many loose parts and the feet hang off the back of the truck. 3A looks beautiful but it's not a transformer. Same with prime one. Lemon tree looks good but it's too small. If this version had a back bumper it would have a perfect vehicle mode and after longer screws I don't have to worry about the shoulder problem.

I was thinking about that. Since the gun is an integral part of vehicle mode, it occured to me that you could design a gun that had the back bumper inside of it. Obviously there'd be no room for a light-up barrel gimmick, but honestly I don't care.

if there's a 3d modeller out there trying to fix this thing. It's way more impactful to fix the thin shins and tiny feet. They really ruin the proportions.

Bigger shins/feet could easily fit and would go a long way into improving the figure. next would be better headscult, smaller and smaller hands.

These are the 2 ways i find that may help to at least cover up the lack of actual bumper on this guy's alt-mode.
May not be much, i kinda like how it looks; rather than having the butt of the gun exposed in the normal way.
Pic1 is just the standard configuration as per the instructions

Ooh, nice. If only the gun was a little bit shorter, those two panels could sit flush in vehicle mode.
