@Iron dibot That sucks man and I've always felt iffy about that section as it's just a piece of plastic holding most of his Calf/foot. One other thing that always bugged me about Spoilers Transformation from Car back to bot is where exactly is the best place to start as the whole car is tabbed in and is a legit Maisto Model lol.

Hope FT gets your Replacement parts but might take a minute.

 

Replacement part is on its way! Could take 10 to 12 weeks but I don't mind. I'm just glad I'll be able to fix him.

 

Well, analyzing and designing with failures in mind is not something that everyone knows how to do. This usually require some "advanced" engineering practices, such as failure analysis, risk management, and things like that, and usually manufacturers only do this if they are required to (I work with medical devices and although the manufacturers are required to, most don't even know how to do it  ) or because they understand the commercial gains.

 

A fairly fool-proof starting point is avoiding "thin plastic bits" near high torque areas.

Well darn, best make it a thin piece of plastic then, already used our die-cast allowance on the interiors bits that don’t make a difference.

Seriously, I love the look of FT, but the more they release, the less I want to transform any of them.
I remember a post last year from someone with Lupus, bitching about the stupid foot design on one leg and how it was always going to fail.
I assumed this was BS and got mine out of the cabinet so I could take photos of the perfectly fine foot connection and prove him wrong. After a quick look, he went back in the cabinet very carefully, with a mental note to never move the foot again.

 

I wonder since they have replacement parts for spoiler that they have figures of him sitting around for reissue (like everyone theorizes) hopefully its next month.

Nice pics as always. I haven't transformed mine since putting a waterslide on. Is the wear on the decal you applied caused by the chest sides sliding in and out?

 

Yeah it happens. Water slides are fragile.

No I must have touched it with my fingers while transforming him.

 

The masterpiece sized waterslides are just small enough so that the chest parts that slide in dont even touch it since there is a big enough gap left after they are fully pushed in.

 

Really wish there was a simple clear coat we can apply to water slides. I know of the airbrush method but I'm in no market to buy an airbrush/Compressor kit etc. I've tried a clear coat for Nails but unfortunately it leaves streaks of the brush.

EDiT: @Destructimis Prime I swear the Chrome/Metallic Waterslides are even more delicate than the regular Waterslides and they are coming hard to come by nowadays.
