The only 3P Seacons are TFC's Poseidon and I'm not sure if those are any more available or less expensive than the Selects offerings.

I have both, but if you're a Seacon fan and don't have a ton of money I'd say prioritize the official ones to get the CW play value.

Poseidon is great, but he's a display piece. Needs a ton of room and isn't the easiest figures if you're looking for something you can flip between modes.

I'm also saying this as a Seacon fan. So I would likely have bought Poseidon regardless of the Selects figures existing at the time. And I would have bought the Selects dudes regardless.

 

Finally found a UW-EX Baldigus for under $280. Unreal how expensive this thing got....

Well, to be honest, other than the Spychangers by now, pretty much all the cast doesnt really need updates since they are great figures (and show accurate anyway) for the time

Congrats! I was initially against getting the set, but got caught up in the release month euphoria. Glad I got him as he's one of my favorite sets of the line.

 

I actually ended up ordering a couple different versions of the kit meant for Starscream awhile back (one was Dreamwave I believe... one was $19.99 and the other was $29.99) and just painted them for Bruticus and Menasor.

This kit was a pain to install and ultimately ruined the combiner gimmick........



But fuuuuuuuuck does it look goooooooood!!

 

Does it still transform?

 

Transformation becomes ridiculously and annoyingly difficult to get everything to fit just right, especially the crotch paneling.

Combiner function is there. It's just even more unstable due to all the extra weight. Having the wings on top will cause the figure to easily topple over. You can attach the wings to waist as a pseudo-samurai thing I guess, which is less unstable.

Kit makes the split waist mushroom peg even more unstable and prone to tearing apart. Be very cautious about rotating the waist.

Battle Core with the SND "upgrade' kit. Complete PITA to install (do NOT buy unless you know how to do fairly major mod and pinning work). Despite the upgraded hip ratchet joints that come with the kit, it's still not good enough to support all the weight. Looks great but barely poseable / functional. The limbs are CW Prowl, CW Groove, CW First Aid, and POTP Jazz. CW Hot Rod is in the chest cavity in "fan mode".
