Not all of us. Some of us don't see this as a particularly necessary part of a collection and are quite prepared to miss out rather than spend what is, quite frankly, way too much money on a small motor inside a plastic shell.

 

I am in the boat where I can afford this and would love it for my movie masterpiece display, but I wanted 3.....and that is absolutely not happening for 3. Let alone questioning the purchase of 1. This price is really hard to swallow for non transforming.

This is one of the first 'must haves' for my collection where I am hesitating pre-ordering because its clearly not worth the money.

The price inflation lately is really out of control for this scale. I'm getting frustrated overall.

But will they lower the price or will it flop? Doubtful . I may preorder 1, and push myself to do 3 if it actually gets marked down due to crappy sales. I dunno....

 

lol not gonna happen with a lot of people. i think the quints are a cool kinda weird tf lore thing. i mean there is a little bit of nostalgia for sure but they are not essential for most TF fans and even most TF 3P fans. Real talk, i'd happily buy them in a 3 pack for $120. I'd begrudgingly buy them at $70 for one. Its just not worth it to me and i think to most people. its too simple, isn't that impressive, and not a necessity. at $175 this isn't selling out unless its a REALLY limited run, but if it sells out...WHO CARES?! i don't have to have "the best" quints because well...if the best quints cost this much - i'd rather spend it on something else. that being said, maybe they are planning on a small run and having the supply dry up....go to the high price low volume model vs. the middle volume, reasonable price model.

 

£124.99 + £5.50 postage in TFS EXpress, so pretty much.........$170. So i was a close at my $169.99 prediction

The price I just cannot justify for what I’m getting. I can get 3 Hasbro Quints that fill the spot just as easily as one of these and still have enough left over to get a second copy of TE Mirage.

 

Stuff like this is why I often say "This figure is good enough" and pass on replacing it with the Latest and Greatest.

Don't get me wrong, some need replacing, like FT Astrotrain replacing DX-9's on my shelf. Still, for the most part, I won't pay this price for a IMO *slightly* better version (I never use gimmicks in my figures). I'll stick with my IT Quints and Igear and UT Sharkticons.

 

I ordered up a few but I’m not sure how happy I am about it. I can always cancel before they come in. I think they look absolutely beautiful, but I don’t have any use for the gimmicks at all. Mine won’t even see batteries ever! X-Transbots, lower the price a little bit or these things are gonna he shelf warmers. There are WAY more people out on this now than there are who are in. You guys still have time to sell the hell out of these since the orders just went up, but you better make some changes or this will have been a waste of your time. Like I said, I love it and it looks fantastic, but I still have time to cancel and use the money elsewhere.

This really was as close to a sure thing as you could get in the third-party market. No other company is making these in masterpiece scale. It’s an item that many people would choose to army build with. No transforming involved and a relatively simple design. I just can’t understand the decision making that went on with this figure

 

If they're smart, they'll make a stripped down version with no electronics, no remote obviously, and charge 70 tops as someone else also suggested on here.

No one will need to rush on this, they’ll be available for a long time (even the hottest XTB doesn’t sell out for a while). And if you miss it you’ll be able to catch the re-release with better paint and QC fixes as per usual.

They might match FT prices but they’re not gonna have FT scarcity.

 

Charge a high amount of money for a MEH character, and you will never have scarcity.

 

TFsource bullies companies into forcing other retailers to match their price so customers flock to them. They are a shitty company that does nothing but leak peoples information/credit cards, and fuck over consumers by raising prices everywhere. I honestly hope they crash and burn.

 

Saw some neat videos of this guy on FB and even though I’m not a Movie/season 3 collector I thought I might pick him up...that is until this morning when I got the preorder email from tfsource wanting 175.00 before shipping/customs which also does not include that I’d have to buy several rechargeable lithium batteries which are somewhat pricey as well, 10-30 bucks depending on type...for just one Quintesson? Sorry, not gonna happen. Would have liked a set of 3 for that price, gimmicks unnecessary. Reading the last couple pages of this thread I see I am not alone. Ouch.

I know about the CC issues, but what companies do TFSource bully? This would mean they have a say in kieth’s wholesale price. That’s crazy.
