Please make the sharkticons 209 each. I'm buying 60 to recreate some scenes.

Also to give you some perspective, it costs about $250 for us Canadians.
Way too much, probably will pass.

Dude, it's a shell with some electronics jambed into it. It's awesome that you think this product is worth it but from the outside looking in it seems to me XTB didn't exactly know what they were doing when designing this and is now passing on the cost of their lessons learned trying to make it function as desired onto their customers for, what seems to me, an exorbitant price. At this point you're making XTB look even worse by White Knighting for them while everyone knows you're doing the box art. Before you post again I can only recommend you take a step back and think " Am I making things worse" and then rethink and simply don't post. Just a friendly suggestion.

While I do wish the price was lower I hear what you're saying.

I just picked up TE Mirage for $70 shipped. It's a very good bot for the price but I would have happily paid $100 to get some hardware on it. Any hardware, it's all friction joints.

If this checks all of its boxes at the premium level that a price like this commands then I'm in and I'll be impressed. Because this has to earn this price in a way the Stunticons didn't and I hope it's successful.

I'd also really like to see the behind the scenes on the development of this guy, I'd love to see the nuts and bolts here.

As cool as this thing is, no way in hell I am paying $175 for it. Way over priced for what it is. Least IMO.

    Best Regards,

I expected it to be $150 USD. A bit higher, doesn't change my decision, I'm getting it.

This should be $99.99 because of the simplicity and no need to transform and $249.99 for a 3 pack.
Their Junkions are $119.99 with the new price hike and that has diecast and transforms.

So, the nonsense in this thread has got me thinking about the old Impossible Toys Quints. I just checked Ebay and they go for about $85 + shipping. So, about $95 to $100.

I think what XTB has presented is $75 better than the IT Quints are.

I do think there could have been better expectation management on the part of XTB. Cause it sounds like a lot of folks were wanting something cheap and that wasn't what was delivered. But they also never promised a cheap, empty shell either.

Those aren't even remotely in the same market. If it makes you happy to have a mainline Hasbro release sitting on an MP shelf taking up space then you win man but they aren't in the same ballpark, shit, they aren't even playing the same game.

Their plastic is the same that XTB, KFC, UT use. Their paint work is good, I only have fully painted figures from Takara, so they are the only ones I am comparing them to... I think the quality is quite similar, both peel off easily.

About the last statement... People need to realize that weight ≠ quality... it is a fallacy.

I will agree with you that FT it's the most popular of the G1 3P companies and what they do looks quite good, but their products are not better than the competition in other aspects.

And here I was complaining that the price hike on the new Junkions to $120USD over the $80USD I paid for the first 2 was outrageous. Evidently, I'm getting old and out of touch in my budgeting?

I just don't get the "weight means quality" fallacy, I guess crappy pot metal die cast is gold.

I hope BBTS puts this up, so I can preorder and easily cancel. I am getting one or more quintesson judges. That's all there is to it. Based off the ?possibly final? (really not sure) deco here, I'll end up painting this and I'll end up painting the hastak version. This is a lot for something I'll feel the need to tamper with. I'd really like to get the hastak in hand and fool around with it before making a decision.

But if this was all there was i would definitely buy 1 or 2- even at this price.

Well, looking on the bright side, at least pre orders won't be sold out in a day, like FT.
If you want one, you'll get one.

What, you don't buy your collectible toys based on their scrap metal value later on? You're clearly not investing in this hobby for the long haul!

But the IT ones are only that price because of scarcity and being the only game in town currently. It doesn't mean that the new kid on the block is immediately worth 2x that because of bells and whistles.

IT probably legitimately worth $50. Now add the ~$80 that seems to be the value of the gimmick, and you come to the $130 figure that was floating around in January. Still high, but at the time we didn't know what it did, and I suspect that had we been told then what was planned, folks would have said "Oh. Makes sense, I'm in then".

FYI, I'm smelling a TF Source strong arm tactic again here...
