Yeah, like @PowderedToastMansButtocks said, the one with the screw is slightly longer in the face and just looks a bit too thin.

15 minutes of work, and confirming that the Swiss Army Knife plastic toothpick is the most valuable tool because it's really just a miniature spudger ;)

Now that Sphinx is replaced, I feel like my 1984 MP cars are more cohesive:

It's crazy to me that these are all made from different companies:

    So long, Sphinx: 20200809_113115.jpg

Has anyone discovered anything that can be done with the missile itself in alt-mode? Is there any storage? Or any way to store the gun in alt-mode?

It's weird that they integrated the launcher itself into transformation, but it appears that the missile has to be just set aside.

Not that I've found and yeah, it just seemed to be a gimmick to show that they could do it, albeit at the expense of animation accuracy and ease of transformation. Might as well have made the entire thing a separate piece; the armature could have been retained.

So did you take the pin out of the knee? Or just open up the thighs?

This is what I plan to do. It's a few more steps to make the job so much easier. Good to see some people have thought of trying this.

That is what I did. I used the pin pusher that came with the SS Ironhide DNA upgrade kit and it took just a few minutes from beginning being to end for the whole job. No worries about cracking the knee or anything that way!

That makes it look quite a bit easier then the pin popping method, which I was unsuccessful with.

Just pried it open. Didn't touch the pins. I slid the plastic toothpick into the space between the two upper thigh pieces, and just slid it in.

Can you take some pics of the back of the knees? (Probably in full 'locked knee" position with the shins push forward as far as they can go.) And we can compare.

So got the pin out. Which was not easy, but may have been harder because the pin was punched in the wrong location.

I was about to say--I wonder if those double hinges have an up/down way to go as well. But that's just a bad punch. Sorry for the luck. Reaching out to get a new piece?
