The cell shaded Mafex Spidey is the best deco I’ve seen on any Spider-Man figure, ever.

Oh ok, that's what I thought. Looking on eBay it doesn't seem to be going for nearly that much.

On Amazon the original version is close to $400. The comic-shaded version is about $87-ish.

Well that's just some asshole, if it was actually worth anywhere near that I'd sell immediately lol. Been finding a lot of peace moving on from figures that are inexplicably worth hundreds of dollars. I think I sold my Mezco Lone Roach Gomez for $350 and that seems like a deal now.

That aftermarket, it's a strange beast sometimes. I think some of it is people with a fundamental lack of understanding of economic principles.
They assume that age and/or scarcity are the only factors that drive up price while forgetting that desire is just as strong a factor. And that there's such concepts as "diminishing returns" and "perceived value".

Neither - it'll be the MAFEX release of the bottom one's costume.

I opened up my Hush Batman today. I have to say I don't like it. The cape ruined the figure for me.

Respectfully, is it the cape material that's off-putting? The wiring? The size? Combination of factors?

There is just too much of it. It ruins the fun of playing around with the figure. And I don't like how it's bunched up around the cowl.

So I just found out Mafex are doing an Animated Batman, and it's the TNBA version. Why? Why not do the original, actually popular version? DCC did this with their shitty Animated line, but unlike them I don't think Mafex will ever do another BTAS Bats.

I'm going to say I'm good with it because they can iron out all of the potential issues with the mould on that stoopid TNBA version so that when they do make BTAS, it's a better release.
Kind of like I'm sure brown suit Wolverine will be so much better than tiger stripe Wolverine.

I would have to go mafex. They are just so much more posable I think than that essentials figure. I very nearly picked that knightfall one up but something about him makes him look odd to me. Like his legs are to long to his torso or his midsection is to short, i can't decide which. I passed on the mafex batman hush and will end up passing at least on the first dark knight one also. I usually wait for either a second run on mafex stuff or at least until I see how many have issues and what those issues are. For instance the hush many are griping about the cape length but for some the wires in the front aren't under the cowl and some they are so if you have a droopy cape you feel isn't posing right or laying right it could be because the wire in the front is loose and not anchored under the cowl.

Nothing that I've read and nor would it be easy. I dont have the figure but from what I've seen in reviews the cowl is attached pretty solid. Trying to get it up and off would likely damage it. Perhaps a fix would be to try to take a small drill bit and drill behind the cape line just out if sight when the cape lays on the shoulder and make an attempt to slip the wire in that but no guarantee it would work or hold.

yea i’ve seen almost all the youtube reviews and haven’t come across any fixes yet, just people dealing with it. i’ll request for an exchange and hope that the new copy is better.
