These are some really awesome micromasters. Just picked both sets at my local Target earlier tonight.

Managed to score both sets earlier tonight.

That's what I want to know. We've gotten everything else from this wave, why are the deluxes the last to appear? If they're all part of the same wave, why doesn't Hasbro ship them together?

    Sigh.

They're not "the same wave". People have this misconception because a lot of the time, wave numbers roughly line up. Combiner Wars really drove home the idea that waves between price points always have to be synchronized all the time. That's not how it works.

Each assortment/size class/price point has its own waves with its own numbers. Those can be roughly synchronized, but they don't have to. Hell, just look at Studio Series. DOTM Soundwave, Topspin and Cliffjumper are wave 10 of the Deluxe Class, Skipjack and Blitzwing are wave 10 of the Voyager Class, but Overload is merely wave 5 of the Leader Class. That doesn't mean there are "waves without Leaders". It just means the Leader Class waves are spread further apart. And before Combiner Wars, there were Fall of Cybertron (two waves of Legends, four waves of Deluxes, and two waves of Voyagers) and Thrilling 30 (six waves of Legends, seven waves of Deluxes, and six waves of Voyagers).

Even Combiner Wars, the line that completely messed up the way a lot of people think of waves (and just further solidified the way many people were already thinking of waves even before that) had FOUR MONTHS between the first US retail sighting of wave 4 of the Legends Class (Rodimus and Skywarp) and wave 4 of the Voyager Class (Battle Core Optimus Prime).

Please, for the sake of sanity, get this idea that "waves" consist of toys of all sorts of different price points out of your head. That is simply not how it works for Hasbro. Think of every price point as its own thing that has its own waves, and you won't lose your shit when things don't seem to line up properly.

EDIT: Misunderstood the question! Please see downthread for a more on-topic answer!

I can't speak for cassettes, but the tightness of the joints and the feel of the plastic in both of these sets do feel a little better than some of the other releases — at least, when compared to Red Hot, some of the Target 10-pack figures, or (from what I've read) Roadhandler.

That being said, I don't currently have the Hot Rod Patrol, so I can't say for certain how they fare, but the only issue with the Military Patrol I've had is balancing; for the tightness of joints there, Growl still doesn't like to stand up all that well. Given that there are reports of Trip-Up being the same way, and knowing that Blast Master also needs to be posed or pitched forward to not fall over . . . maybe the biggest issue remaining for the Earthrise Micromasters is back-heavy design?

That's a great explanation. That actually really clears that up, for me. Basically, just forget about wave numbers. Hasbro will ship them out when they're ready. Got it. Thanks.

You just need a macro to use whenever you have to explain it again. :lol . Also trademark vs copyright.

I REALLY wish they would get rid of clip-on wheels, ESPECIALLY on such small figures. They just do NOT roll well, if at all.

What about the statement that Hasbro is doing away with Mircomasters? I hadn't heard that.

Someone said (and I’m losing track of who leaks what) that the “core” class is replacing the Micromasters and they’d be fossilizers and small characters or smaller versions of main characters.

Ah, misunderstood what you were asking about!

As Thundershot said, in the Generations: Beast Wars Speculation thread, a rumor came up about the two smaller classes being retired. You can find that starting on Page 91 of the thread.

Here in Seattle, we have full pegs and even fresh cases of nothing but Wave 1 deadstock. :(  REALLY don't wanna get raped waiting to pile up eighty bucks of in-stock at Entertainment Earth...

Found them as well at the Framingham Target in Massachusetts (along with a Scorponok. There were a lot of them. Looks like they just opened the case today.

Massachusetts is usually one of the last states to get new Transformers releases, so they should be widespread shortly.
