I'd be in for a lot of these, I forgot about the Resolute movie but I was kinda meh when Scarlet chose Duke over Snakeeyes
There’s some things I didn’t like about it story-wise and with characterizations but given that it was never supposed to be anything but a miniseries/movie aimed at older fans, I just chalk it up to being another incarnation of GI Joe in an alternate continuity. However, I love the designs and want good toys of them. The new Tomahawk and YF-23 based Skystriker with winglets were cool, as was the HISS tank, which was awesome. All the character designs were modernized yet easily recognizable. The Baroness, Storm Shadow and Scarlett figures weren’t that great though, they need a redo at the 4” scale but I think Classified versions could do their designs justice.
So, it seems Amazon don't want to give me anything beyond a stock automated reply as to why the fuck they can't supply the UK (yet again!!!) With their own damned exclusive. I've had Stormshadow on order since he went up here, and after two busted "delivery by 8pm today" messages it's back to "we are trying to source the product you have ordered..." BS and being ignored. Skywarp all over again. It's your own Exclusive Bezos, try a bit fucking harder. Or I send HIM round to talk to you about it. Well, not exactly talk........
Same thing happend to me with Carbonized Darth Vader. They oversell their own exclusives and run out before they can fulfill every order. It's total bullshit.
Finished the dart today. Was a completely different exercise than I'm used too. First I molded a patch to snake eye's forearm in tamiya putty and allowed it to cure 24 hours. Then I gave it a bath in cyanacrylate followed by a gentle sanding session to even things out. I knew some of the communication buttons and the squib propellant tank were beyond my fabrication ability. I used a circuit board and a watch dial threaded rod. The skegs on the dart are made from ripped credit card material at .34mm thickness. It was fun gluing that together with the dart body. After initial gluing I gave it a sanding in one spot and gave it another cyanacrylate bath. Moulded wrist adaptor to the left, circuit board (communication buttons) First assy. before squib tank Communications check Outta ammo
It's been a LONG time for me, but I don't remember the original "mini-series" of pilot episodes being too bad. Maybe just show those ones?
I wonder if for the wrist rocket option something like the fett Bandai 1/12 wrist rocket could be adapted to fit? I like the look without but for those wanting this look this may be an option.
Haha, that’s exactly what I thought afterwards and we just watched ep1 of the the MASS Device earlier today.
I remember Christmas of 84, I think, getting the fhe vhs of the mass device miniseries. I watched that sucker all day long. It's really the only ARAH animation I can still do that with. I probably watch it once every couple months now.
Haha yeah! I have them all recorded and can’t remember how many times I watched it but seeing it again today brought back memories and it does stand up to the test of time. Funny thing is I was telling the story of it to the kids as a bedtime story last night and I got most of it right. Meanwhile, I opened another random box (What’s in this random box of toys?) and surprised to see more Joes! I really didn’t realize I had so many of these things but pretty happy about what I’m finding.
I think Revenge of Cobra was always my favorite ARAH miniseries. I though they missed a great opportunity to make a KRE-O cartoon based off that story arc. My kids loved the ARAH series. I think it's all about how you present it. Just some silly fun stuff. Tons of good episodes, though of course not every one is a total winner. However, some of our favorites are the craziest ones. Renegades is modern, fun, and different from the original, but still cool and enjoyable. and then Resolute is a good modern update on the original premise design for a slightly more mature audience. There is a lot of great material to work with.
Yeah the original miniseries were both great. Definitely others throughout that were good but I’d have to watch to know which ones and kids these days...like when we watch some of this stuff they ask questions like “why are the bad guys always so easy to beat?”
Am I the only one who finds the peg/hole for SE's backpack "odd"? Like it never goes in all the way, or makes it attach at a weird angle? (and it's almost literally a square peg/round hole problem, too)
Yeah, that’s what my kids felt too when they read my GI Joe and TF Marvel TPB...too long and wordy but those were the days! I got a kick when I re-read the issue 1 of Marvel TF...where the Decepticons and Autobots introduced themselves! LOL!
