Look who showed up. Shrink Ray and Cobra Ramp.

"Hooray! You scored a direct hit!"

Bought Slitherfang for this reason. Skywarp has pets now.

Got Clobber(ella) after getting into cyberverse, great character and quite a nice toy for a gimmicky one.

I haven't read a Moz interview since the time he had a shamanic moment with a dude who looked just like Superman.
    Need to go find some!

Wolverine is easy to do badly, I think, and probably quite difficult to do well. He wants to want not to be violent....alas, "man is born to trouble as the sparks fly upward".

Logan is a warm-hearted but dismayed and saddened man, whose perpetual vigour lets him bounce past the soul-deep fatigue that would otherwise claim him.

Very good point re: militarisation of superheroes! Post-9/11, you think? Or everyone copying Millar?

(Okay, it's prolly Rorschach and Big Bruce's tankmobile....? No, that doesn't seem right....Cap went all soldier-y but then he is a soldier, it's how he was trained.Would be very interested to hear more of your thoughts on this subject! :D

Can we blame Johnny Rico and his thirty second bomb? )

I like to have mismatched teams, and at first hoped to have ER Starscream, Siege Skywarp and SS Thundercracker with some sort of custom head.

Of course the harsh realities of reality meant that Skywarp basically doesn’t exist, so I settled for a trio of matching ER Seekers. It feels very conformist.

Did you ever play Warhead on the Amiga? I'm sure it featured all those systems but the only ref to Wolf 359 I can recall is the Ken MacLeod short story!

(Anyone who hasn't read Ken MacLeod: go find his Corporation Wars trilogy on Amazon. It is MUCH better than the name suggests. And does not involve what we'd think of as corporations at all, really. Well sort of. In a manner of speaking. But Carter Burke and colleagues, you will not find therein. After that, read everything else he ever wrote apart from the Cosmonaut Keep books as he got bored halfway through and had to force himself to finish them. They do have some pretty neat moments though. And so far all his other stuff is FAB.)

Makes me wonder what Tarantulus will look like in Kingdom. I always liked his TM form, and SOTW borrowed liberally from it, so hopefully there will be some hulking great shoulders on the new toy.

That phoenix looks amazing, just looked it up on ebay. Out of my price range but does look amazing, and the fact I have spent far too much money on toys in the last month!

Hoping to get up my loft a week on Monday and start clearing stuff out. Will put any star wars stuff on here that I am selling. Not really sure what I have got anymore.

    Will give not a shout.

Will need some toys for my diorama though.

Right, this is your first public warning, stop enabling me, I really do not need new toys!

    I think I missed Warhead.

I agree with the Cosmonaut Keep books being boring but they do have the most disturbing aliens I've ever read - octopus/spider-monkey things that can reproduce in your blood and crawl out of your body *shudders*

In my observation 9/11 was more a causal link node in a whole nexus of things including the need of an 'Enemy' and justification rose-tinted view of warfare for then-flagging reactionary conservatism, and a massive PR boost for them AND the Military Industrial complex, wholly embraced by both to shore up the US's at that point getting quite flaky self-positioning as Global Hegemon (Gotta Catch 'Em All! Oh, wait, wrong 'mon!). The public opinion got swung heavily back towards positive representation of the Military after the drubbing their rep got in the muddle of the (Illegal) Gulf War, I think there's something to be said for @nemisispringer's cyclical theory fellas as it seems to mirror that Post-Vietnam/Pre-Gulf War, maybe it's just a Macro illustration of just how client our Media are when Power structures need a war doing?
Like IRL culture our Fiction has both Hawks and Doves counterpointing each other but it became fashionable, and then the fashion just becomes the norm to depict Militarism as moral, Miller just embraced that with enthusiasm as he clearly has no soul left! :p

Sidenote: Funny how quickly the Information Age accelerated into the Disinformation Age, and how the prevalent "Move Fast, Break Things" mentality of the Silicone valley, fully embraced by Capitalism as a whole, is, as a phrase, exactly how one might curtly describe Vladislav Surkov's Non-Linear Warfare Strategising, especially as the former has been of great use to the latter!

Got a big kapow toys box in the mail this morning, good thing to start a sick day off work

Also, love Earthrise prowl and Ironhide, glad I pre-ordered from Amazon US now seeing the reviews, Ironhide's car feet didn't bother me too much in siege so they don't really bother me here either

If you're in it mainly for Predaking then yeah, go for it. Big dumb fun. The one you have is probably the strongest of the individual figures. I like 'em for what they are, but couldn't say go for it if all three modes are a dealbreaker. They stand out like a sore thumb alongside other Transformers individually.

But Predaking is just *mwah, chef's kiss*.

Rung and Snakeyhips arrived from ID today. Always get an extra thrill when receiving an IDW1-heavy toy - T30 Springer, CW Ultra Magnus and now this are the most resonant. I'm still hoping for a Scout class release, official or 3p, someday...

Also received, Phase Two Volume 11! For just under £22 including postage, got to be happy with that. Ebay seller "Books etc" who I also picked up Volume 10 from several months back.

The angle I took the Skywarp/Terro-Daxtyl/Slitherfang pic makes it seem like Skywarp is horrified by the fact his pet protected him.

Lovely stuff!  I really liked the bits with the "gods" as in the Oort-cloud comet intelligences, every one different, who saw humans as akin to spam!
It took our two-legged chums a REALLY long time to work a certain thing out (and in fact they didn't at all and had to be told!)

I'd say his best were The Star Fraction, The Stone Canal, and my favourite The Cassini Division (Ellen Mae for the win! Am shipping her and Zakalwe, they can get married and produce legions of the badass. :D ) but also the much more recent Corporation Wars, proper loved those books!

"It was hot on the roof"....

OK, saving that to look at later! :)

I think you make some very good points, am not a student of world affairs by any means though so my opinion may be quite uneducated: if I haven't interpreted you correctly it's my bad and not yours! :)

I was interested in the cyclical theory (aspect of generational psychology, no?) and wanted to read more about it. The media do their best to sow misery and discord: fear gets repeat readers and viewers. And of course they're happily letting themselves be used by various nefarious entities. Things are going on....do we know about all of them? I don't do conspiracy but there is clearly much stuff that is fuct to the up! :(

Silo and Red Razors were shit. Millar's got better since.....if not always by much. I fucking loathed Wanted. Jupiter's Legacy was cool tho (have only read part one) and Ultimates rocked whether we like it or not....my ex borrowed both volumes and never gave them back.....:)

Silicon valley mentality new to me; have seen Cali rat race at first hand but this is something else. Oh dear.

I say we take off and.....
