Not the best pics, but this kinda demonstrates it. Basically, Prowl has the ear bumps while Bluestreak doesn't, Prowl's horns are thin attached bits while Bluestreak's are more direct protrusions from it, Prowl's horns are pointier and more vertical than Bluestreak's, and the center bit between the horns is thinner and more ridged on Prowl, while on Bluestreak it's thicker, with a more horizontal rectangle at the bottom.

They did, mostly because Smokescreen got his own head, so it seemed half-hearted to not give Prowl and Bluestreak separate heads.

In fact it's even more annoying now that ER Prowl has BS's head, so there's three separate moulds counting Siege Prowl's, they're just not being used correctly. No new tooling needed, they could've just used Prowl's old head for Prowl and Prowl's new head on Bluestreak.

 

I'm not so bothered by Prowl having Bluestreak's head. To me the differences, while noticeable, aren't that severe for me to get upset about. The Bluestreak renders suggesting that He'll be a complete repaint of Smokescreen instead of Prowl, is what gets me upset. Like others have said, hopefully it's just a render thing, and the actual Bluestreak will be correct. Though, I don't put it past Hasbro to screw it up this badly.

 

Since I haven't sold my Siege Prowl yet... I'm wondering if the head from him will fit on the Earthrise body. That way the three of them can have distinct heads on my shelf.

 

It's just so weird that we have all the parts available to make them properly, they're not... not done properly.

Conceivably a customizer, without any modding besides paint, could create the three Datsun bros properly using just the moulds Hasbro provided and repainting them.

I'll definitely be giving Earthrise Prowl Siege Prowl's head when I get him if it fits; there's a bit more greebliness to Siege Prowl's head than most Earthrise figures, but not enough for it not to fit fine imo.

 

Exactly. Hasbro's decisions didn't make much sense before, but at least there was rhyme and reason. Since Earthrise started it just seems like Hasbro's rhyme and reason was thrown out the window.

 

Like I said with the studio series crankcase, they had a much more accurate berserker mold but they chose to use a much less accurate crowbar mold, that why I think the leak could be real

 

Prowl still looks pretty fantastic too me, I guess because of the original toys I don't mind him and Bluestreak sharing heads
(I never realized they had different model sheets until the Masterpieces came out)

I'm more bothered when they don't make the cars distinct, but looks like they got that (As long as BS does end up being a Prowl repaint and not Smokescreen like the render) with SS getting the ground effect bumper.

A lot of the problem could be avoided if HasTak didn’t insist on giving all new Smokescreen toys the ugly-ass double chin Floro Dery head. I’m much happier when he has the same head as Prowl and Bluestreak.

 

Ugh, he has the Smokescreen double chin. Oh well, if he\'s not an exclusive I will pick him up anyway.

 

If you wanna get technical, Prowl’s thighs aren’t even grey, and he has spoilers, AND he has a different head. So he’s not accurate too

But, in all seriousness, He also looks really good to me - I don’t mind the black legs from an overall color-blocking standpoint: I just wish he had more of his G1 stickers as tampos.

 

Same with earthrise cliffjumper, his arms and legs on the toy are dark grey and red but in the g1 cartoon they are light grey and grey, plus the middle part of earthrise cliffjumpers arms are round while in the g1 cartoon they were square

 

The answer to any question on these boards that begins with "Did anyone complain...?", is always YES!  

 

For me it works like this: I’m cool if Bluestreak and Smokescreen have Prowl’s head, but if they sculpt heads based on Bluestreak’s and Smokescreen’s animation models, I don’t want Prowl to have those heads.
