A typewriter at least has some widespread novelty value. I love Bionicle to bits and I wouldn't have bought that diorama at any price. If something like an official Helryx got 10K votes I'd bet that would have a much stronger chance of getting approved.

Yeah, to be honest the proposed idea was a bit bland and I think people mostly wanted it for the sake of it being Bionicle. I’d much rather prefer full fledged sets rather than the condensed minifigs that came with the proposed one. Plus, it isn’t like we wont get another chance at a Bionicle Ideas set. Our time will come.

    Really now?

Suddenly I realized my effort was but a misguided one...

This thread remains periodically, and surprisingly, active for a toyline that's been dead for so many years now.

Mainly because Bionicle has an immortal fanbase that will never cease to exist.

So, I just pulled my 2.0/3.0 heroes out of storage and..........oh boy..........it is not good.

Hairline fractures on Stormer, Nex (both 2.0) and Rocka.
Outright broken parts on Furno and Evo.

    Lego's "superior quality" everyone.

Wait, really? The redesigned sockets are breaking?

Granted I haven't played with my Bionicle parts in a while, but the new joints seem damn near invincible.

Yup. This is actually the second time I've had broken pieces on Furno.
I'll take a pic of the damage soon.
And it's not just the limbs. The armor plate pieces too.

This here is a piece I got as part of a lot from Bricks and Pieces down in Florida, which I'm certain I posted about.

    Look at that.

Can anyone clarify what the Part Number for the better quality limb sockets are?

The only Bionicle part that has ever broken on me was a hairline crack that appeared on one of Tanma's arm sockets. But that was from a time when lime green parts breaking was a common occurrence. After all these years I have to wonder how my sets in storage are holding up.

Hm. I have a bunch of the new sockets in my part collection, and as far as I'm aware, none of them are broken. May need to check the actual sets now just in case.
