hey did anyone figure out if there was an official haslab forum for this bot. it would be cool to maybe get some questions answered.

 

To me it looks like screw hole covers. If you zoom in on this pic, you can see that one arm has a bunch of exposed screw holes, the stuff on the sprue are just weird little slivers that look like they could match up with those holes: https://i.shgcdn.com/b82c6864-5127-...t/auto/-/preview/3000x3000/-/quality/lighter/

From this, it also looks like he has one arm mold for both arms, one will just be flipped around and the screw holes covered.

 

Dude's got a point, but meh, if I could do Unicron in 10 minutes I'd be underwhelmed

I used to tell myself, "HasTak toys have backpacks because of restrictive budgets," but now...

Seriously. WTF? Moreover, how does it still have a backpack despite it's budget and with the help of Charlie the Cat?

 

Because those planet-mode-exterior panels probably couldn't be made to fold more and store in the body, whether that's because there's not room in the limbs/torso due to the solidness of construction necessitated by its size, or because breaking the planet mode exterior panels into smaller and smaller pieces with more hinges would break up the appearance more and potentially add to the mass unnecessarily.

 

Dear Haslab, feel free to leave the back kibble detatched on my Unicron. Dear 3rd party company, feel free to make attachments to make the back look movie proper.

He's more of a Pretender with the planet as the shell, then a transforming figure.

 

I think that main core part of the backpack IS attached in that pic, and that's why it's so close to the torso. It's essentially just been flipped up over where the head would be.

This article amused me honestly. I don't know what transformers this person is buying, but it must be 3p's and mp's only right? Is this person seriously saying that Earthrise figures are too complex to be fun to transform?

 

I certainly remember a time before vacuous clickbait bullshit written by people who know nothing of the subject they are addressing...

 

I suspect that, for that particular writer, yes, they are. He might even find the Cyberverse 1-step toys a bit daunting (were he aware of their existance, of which I am sure he is not).

 

i have a real hard time believing that this thing takes almost an hour to convert. especially with the stand and 2 free hands. most of the shell just collapses on itself and basically just stows away.

 

They said it's still not fully painted yet so it might be done soon.

 

Sigh....

I was so excited for this initially, it looked amazing but its basically a big shellformer whereas the 3rd party version is literally a masterpiece of engineering and design at a significantly reduced cost, even his odd back that looks like his front is actually movie accurate.

Maybe we are just getting spoiled with these 3rd party figures now equaling and exceeding the offerings from TT.

Nothing about the Haslab Unicrons transformation looks fun
