One down, five to go. I've learned from doing this that mimicking real-world construction vehicle wear and tear is harder than it looks. Regardless, i'm pleased with the results. Constructive criticism and advice appreciated though.
Looks quite nice! I would suggest looking at tracks and wheels on construction vehicles. The dirt is in the recesses, not on the treads. Doing them that way can really make the figures pop.
Ah nice start! I wish I brought the yellow devastator, weathering and yellow just work so well! Have u considered using a gunk wash technique to really get the impression of dirt in the recessed areas? I normally do my weathering in steps like this: 1/ gunk wash or a general pass in crevices where dirt would normally accumulate, thinking about a transitions like bottom half gets more build up then top 2/ scratch pass, where scuffs and scrapes happen 3/ softening any excessive dirt build up or scratches 4/ depending on the subject, add real granular dirt using real soil or pigments. I did a step 1 on my constructions but been a bit lazy to do the rest of the other passes so far here’s a example of my bone crusher
Still needs a bit of touching up, but it's done enough that i'm willing to show it off: The current squad:
These are cool! I dig the shovel detailing! (Pun definitely intended) The first one's bucket looks really realistic.
