I complained about my missing mammoth and asked them to send me a replacement - I got it on Saturday 1st August.

Nice piece - the duplication of the accessories is nice, I like the crane arms and the seats I like that it has tires similar to lego tires on it. it is very customisable and it's cool you can go all amtrax with it and daisy chaining additional trailers if you buy more than one of them....

Perhaps one day someone might make an OSKO of it while keepng the smaller seats or designing new ones - that would be nice as it is a bit out of scale as it is in vehicle mode - not hugely so - but a little bit it would have been better value for money if it was a bit bigger too.
I also ordered the after-market engine cover so I should get that soon too hopefully.

Now I have that out of the way though - I might get the Pride of China submarine sometime too My Vecma bat is also in the mail too and I got Vecma Highbrow not that long ago too who is also quite nice.

I'm hoping they will reveal a bit more information about some of the space line soon, since we just had a flood of releases.

I'm still looking forward to Tracks, and some possible additional Blaster Repaints. There is those Blue & Black SAS mechs not that far off hopefully, and who knows perhaps one day they might make some other colours of the E-Box mechs too.

Tracks looks like the main other thing I'm looking forward too that and Brainstorm.

So good news if like me you were wondering if your Mammoth orders from showz would forever be stuck in the frozen wastes of Eastern Europe. As an apology for the delay in shipping showz sent me two bricks of the finest columbian coke you can buy.

OK so it wasn't coke but it was the Mammoths. Honestly, while their nice their... I don't know. Feeling like their lacking a certain spark. It's all functional, two pilots per a set, load of weaponry and hard points to stick things into but... Eh, I dunno. I think it's a little pricier than what it should be. Yeah it's a hell of a lot cheaper than any kind of Takara set and it is an original product but it just feels a little bit of a let down. Maybe it's the size, in my minds eye I thought it'd be maybe a tad bigger. Well regardless, I've began painting them up a bit, a ton of moulded detail on them which is nice. A quick wash or a gunpla marker really brings it out.

    IMG_20200806_212031.jpg

Couple more, leg mode and stand up pretend optimus prime trailer mode. Foot articulation is OK, bit limited, could of been engineered a touch better but serviceable.

Two trucks that turn into lower legs.

One must focus on the long view in order to keep enthused i suspect.

It's not so much the long view that I felt disappointed with, more how I hoped they would be more mobile base like. For instance they have the row of seats etc but most of the items included are either weapons or claws. I couple of control panels of some sort or a console or two could of been pretty good to give that mobile base vibe.

Same thoughts. But I don't think it's gonna be cheaper than Takara's Big Powered, when combined. Two legs 80$ per set. Two hands i believe won't gonna be cheaper. And a torso will cost more than 80$, I'm quite sure about that. The whole set easily will hit 400$. And we don't know is it 5 or 6 pieces per set.

Well that looks like an interesting couple of sets. I'll be interested to see how that all fits together.

As for the Mammoth. I'll agree it may have benefitted from being a bit bigger - but isn't it sized the way it is due to Big Powered's legs having to match in size ?

I got the engine cover in for mine recently - fits nicely - doesn't look to bad - perhaps best suited to when you use the cab on it's own or as a crane, does prevent the radar dishes being used though.

Incidentally for anyone who wondered the grey isn't the same shade as the takara light grey... but it still looks nice enough with that.

I'll get another one eventually if two is needed to make a robot, but no huge hurry just yet. The more space stuff they make the more likely I am to buy a second one. But I perhaps need to get another Supermarket white Diabattle robot before then. It's a shame they cancelled the grey prototype one - but perhaps they can rebrand it for the space line and adjust the colour to their own grey colouring instead of the Takara Grey or perhaps release a grey Space Manuvour set instead. Who knows perhaps they might spring some more Chinese supermarket toys on people too.

Looks nice but that vusa tampo looks like Visa. I already told the Indian guy who phoned me I'm not getting a credit card, I don't want one from mft either.

I kind off wish they'd go a bit more neutral on the tampos, same thing happened with that SAS line of bots that came out recently. Add some warning tampos or caution signs, that kind of thing, it makes it feel more natural. Vusa just looks... Weird.

I received a pack of the MechFanToys dia-nauts. The deco is just a slight notch below the official ones. The joints, however, feel tighter.

The price, however, is the major difference. Much, much cheaper. The official Takara ones are way overpriced for what they are.

So I got Mammoth in the mail a couple weeks ago (in brick-of-coke packaging, of course. Go ShowZ), and I agree that it doesn't QUITE hit the mark. I'm not really worried about size or scale, but for me it's really that it doesn't have a great way to store anything, or at least I haven't found a good way to fit all the adapters and bits in the trailers. Also like others pointed out, it's a bit too pricey, especially if you're planning on doing the full combiner. I wish this one set was usable as BOTH legs. I'd be way more on board if they left out a lot of the accessories and gave me THAT.

The claim is they'll be including a second foot mechanism in another of the not-BigPowered components.

Perhaps something could be made that used the container part similarly to an Eagle Lander from Space 1999 and it came with some sort of alternative truck based on the 6 wheel chassis then when in leg mode they would look similar but play differently.

I will say this again though the Mammoth is nice ; you get lots of parts that fit pretty well with diaclone parts and it's fun to play with - it's only real flaw (aside from the size which can't be helped as it has to fit to big powered's scale) is the price it's a little over priced - which is a slight shame as I expect if it had been a bit cheaper I would have bought 2 of them right off.

Where as now I may wait a while and see if they get reduced - still would like another one though... I'm considering holding off a little on buying another one as I have this feeling they are QUITE LIKELY to make a dark blue or Black one under the SAT banner. Or one that closely resembles the colours of the Movie truck on which it is based.

I really like the look of it though - it looks like something from THE MCU or from The Videogame series Red Faction.
it has a slight wiff of nostalgia to it as well it reminds me of some of those old metal scifi vehicles made by the likes of Dinky or Corgi in the past.

If it was like £20.00 / $20.00 and you could just pick it off a store shelf as a non-branded toy like something Laniard make I'd be raving about it a lot more ; it really is only the bangfor buck that is a slight disapointment - the product is good though and I will buy more of them if they make variations and repaints.

You have captured my feelings about this toy PERFECTLY - glad I have one, bummed they are so expensive [because I'd love to have one or two more], but will begrudgingly shell out for a redeco.
