This is a good point. People who purchased multiples contributed to getting the project made in the first place. They did so knowing there were people who were either on the fence or unable to afford it in the moment.

You're paying a markup because they took the risk buying multiples. Maybe someone will sell it at cost out of the kindness of their hearts, but expecting it is silly.

But that's the case for any figure. I didn't have the money for the TFSS CW offerings until after the fact, but I still had to pay my fair share for a few that I missed because of it. It's like saying "Oh I'll wait for a sale..." and then complaining when the sale never comes or it does and sells out before you can snag one.

You made the choice to wait, and that choice is always made knowing you may not get one at the price you want.

Have you been watching the secondary market for the Sail Barge?

Multiple retailers allowed you to pay a deposit and pay off the figure later. There were ways to get it for less. Now the price is up to those who bought it. Limited items selling for more afterwards is usually part of the game. Not going through the multiple outlets to preorder one means you have to pay aftermarket prices. No scalping when everyone had equal opportunity to buy. You create the supply.

Don't count on getting it for much less than $1000 unless you find someone actually trying to get rid of it or you're lucky enough to get an order in from some retailer who ordered extra.

Also reselling it for more is not scalping. This product was scalp-proof.

I don't get all the hate for this project...definitely feels rooted in envy. It's an awesome figure and I'm thankful projects like this can happen. I would've backed it if I had room for something this massive.

I missed out on this, this looks like a fantastic figure! I sure hope that in the future there will be someway of getting this.

It's always the outspoken minority that really make things seem more hated than they are. I think a lot of people are genuinely excited and there will be a lot of envy in the years ahead.

Are they going to put the instructions in booklet form like Lego does for their products?  Or are they going to put it in loose form that looks like it was just printed off the computer?

Im sure people will buy the $1,000 ones when all the more reasonable priced ones are gone and they go into desperation mode.

Or will just buy the $200 Chinese ko versions.

Given Hasbro Asia's recent foray into China's KO market, I'd be shocked if HasLab Unicron is appealing for them to pick up. I'd expect CIA tactics and waterboarding if that happens...

I’m buying it for planet mode and it has Zeta’s version beat 11 ways to Sunday in planet mode.

The engineering on this guy does look miles better & more play friendly than the Zeta version.

After seeing Emgo’s review on it I’m def having 2nd thoughts about it now.

Just saying man, your expecting what shouldn’t be expected. People aren’t automatically assholes just because they feel their limited item is worth more than it’s initial price due to exclusivity or whatever. No one is running a charity here. Best of luck to getting one, but got to lower expectations mate.

Yup. Even if someone is willing to part with a spare for what they spent...good luck getting it shipped cheap/safely. You'll want to pay them for the insurance on it as well since I think by default most carriers only automatically cover up to $100.

Have to agree with this. I bought two so I could recoup some of my cost by selling the duplicate at whatever the market rate will be (likely over $1k)

Bought an extra, too. Though mainly, I wanted a back-up in case there was a major QC issue (missing piece or something like that). If no issues, then I'm selling my extra for whatever market rate is.

I'm surprised-not-surprised that some people who didn't order these are now a) trying to convince everyone in this thread (or themselves) that they could have gone with the "better" Zeta version and b) we should sell the HasLab version for straight retail because they missed the boat.

I see this happen all the time with other toys and lines.

I totally missed the boat on Classics Castle Grayskull when it was heavily discounted, and now it's going for over $1K. It is what it is.

I can tell no one in here collects sneakers cause this is name of the game in that community, limited quantities and resell prices and so on lol. This thing is extra limited and a crowd funded product. Resell prices are going to be high on it. Limited things usually sell for higher amounts in secondary markets. Whether it’s toys shoes and so on. Like others have said, we all had a fair equal chance to get one

I’ve had a few PMs since last year from people asking me if I would sell the duplicate for cost (I made it well known what my intentions were at the time). Anyone that saw what happened with the barge could’ve predicted that Unicron was going to be a goldmine. Wait until BBTS rolls out the extra couple of hundred they ordered for stock after this thing drops and starts charging $1200 a piece for them
