First time I've seen someone make a digital 3D render based off MP line art. Now THAT'S fandom, LiamP, good work - and looking forward to seeing the rest of it!   (as long as we get a few different expressions!  )

I see a lot of people talking shit about Hound's quality on here...kinda glad I didn't - and still don't - really feel the need to add that figure to my collection. Sounds like it would crumble and fall apart faster than my plans for this year did!

 

It’s funny because Hound isn’t even a gold figure. Now GPS can also stand for Green Plastic Syndrome.

 

XTB has defo done it twice.

 

Unless I've missed it I don't think any Hounds have actually crumbled, but there have been cracks and breakages at some of the hinges. It seems to be pretty it and miss, though. All I have is a small crack on the neck/gun armature that doesn't affect anything. I've transformed him a decent amount and have put him in all kinds of poses and ways he probably shouldn't have (@chchchch can attest to that  ).

Anyway it's really cool seeing the 3D modeling going on here. I've been able to replicate objects I have on hand as a model, but using things like line drawings trips me up.

 

Hoping this comes with multiple faces, from the alternate smirk face seen on MP-03 to that pissed off MP-11 look.

 

I’m also kinda hoping they pull a Maketoys and make a head that you can use with MP-36 so he’s being strangled. That’d be hilarious.

It's high time for the official prototype reveal now, but I also want Liam to have time to finish his 3D model beforehand!   

 

To be completely transparent and honest, I make many sarcastic comments in that vain - however, while my copy of Hound has many of the typically reported cracks, he is one of my top all-time favorite figures and I still transform him regularly back and forth. But as much as I love him, I won’t deny his faults.

 

Yep, and included the female "space force" pilot from season 3, too (dont remember her name).

Same thing with Soundblaster and Ratbat. In fairness to Soundblaster, at least he appeared on the show during the "Headmasters" run.

 

Right now? Damn bro really? I ain’t even thinking we’ll see him in a month.

 

I have zero interest in another MP Starscream after Earthrise. I honestly believe Earthrise Starscream is pound for pound the best SS we will ever get.

 

So far so good with my copy of Hound. Knock on wood.

He is undoubtedly one of the best MP from the post Grapple/ Infern era. With the exception of the 2019 experimental plastic disaster, he goes toe to toe with Grapple/ Infern for best overall look (very clean AND toon accurate) and easily rivals Op and Meg for articulation. The Spike included looks way more accurate with the carbot vehicle modes, too.

If they reissue with QC issues under control, I will most def be updating mine. But again, so far so good; possible I got lucky or just haven't found an issue yet.

Bright side is it seems HasTak learned (just based on releases since). I honestly don't think this SScream will have that issue. F***in blind hope, I guess.

 

Lol me too. Hopefully there's a while but I'd love to see real proto pics asap also!  

It'll be worth doing anyway as it'll be like having our own painted proto to play with, and real proto shots will help make it better.

Also, this has become a bit of a collaboration and some talented help will make it better than I could have hoped myself - watch this space.

Honestly, if I were HasTak, I would release my figs with the accessories that apprear with 3p releases AND some. I have an appreciation for 3p as a consumer; but as the competition!?! I would intentionally shut shit down!!!
