Rise of the Tomb Raider and NBA2K20 are the PS plus games for this month.

 

So I'm still looking around for a PS4 Controller as mines,the "Down-Forward" is crapping out day by day from all the Hadoukens and all the EWGF from all the past years of playing fighting games. I came across this and was lol. Seems legit

Hell if you’re playing that much Street Fighter, splurge and get an arcade stick if they make one for PS4.

 

Hey guys, I got my unemployment payment, and I’m really thinking about the VR iron man set. Is it worth it? Will it work On ps5? Should I wait on a new one?

 

I own PS VR and it’s not that great compared to other options. Oculus Quest is so much better. PS VR will work on PS5 but there are rumors of a new model. I would wait for that.

 

Hey Folks! Quick question but has anyone here ever taken apart a PS4 Controller? If so how was it? As I mentioned above my Down-Forward is super sensitive from all my times playing Fighting games so I'm thinking about replacing the "Rubber Conductive Pad” which is gonna cost me like $5 vs buying a New Controller. Any tips would be greatly appreciated if you have taken/restored your controller.

(TBH I'm contemplating on doing a straight overhaul the controller by replacing the battery and Springs for the trigger buttons.)

 

Haven't cracked open a 4 but I did do some slight rehab on a couple of 3s, I can't imagine they'd be that much different. Only thing I really had to watch out for was a ribbon cable running between two separate circuit boards in the controller.

Obvious suggestion is obvious, but I'd take a look at a couple of youtube videos on repairing a Dualshock 4, they should warn you of any potential rough spots

 

@Uniclonus Thx! I watched some videos Lastnight and got a general idea of what to lookout for especially the ribbon tape. Looks pretty easy and straight forward. Fingers crossed I don't mess it up lol.

 

It’s pretty straight forward. The triggers are annoying when putting it back together.

 

Just an update but the rubber conductive pads I bought for my PS4 DS Controller fixed the problem and feels brand new!

However.... I cracked/chipped a small back piece of the shell by L2 and had The Great idea of crazy gluing it and now it feels as if the L2 while isn't jammed up,feels "Gummed" up next to the crazy glue. Lol FML, hopefully it wears itself down but on a bright note I saved $56 from buying a new Controller with the $4 rubber conductive pads.

(Was tempted to replace the top bumpers but didn't wanna give myself another headache lol.) Thx folks.!

 

Sony says expect more of its first-party PlayStation games on PC
Looks, like Microsoft's success on PC encouraged Sony to do the same.
I'd like to see ports of Spider-Man and Ratchet and Clank.

 

But it makes less sense for Sony. For Microsoft in the end it doesn’t matter. You are buying a Microsoft product on a Microsoft Platform. Sony thinks this would help introduce more people to PlayStation. I’m not sure if it’s going to be as profitable as they think.

 

Sony's game department is one of the only departments at sony NOT hemorrhaging money. My guess is they are starting to get desperate, which is bad.

 

Theres allot of PC gamers that don't want consoles and are never going to buy them, but are more then happy to buy games when they come to PC even if they are years late. This has been proven over and over and over, yet for some reason publishers are still surprised when they test the waters and end up making a shitload of money for a relatively small investment.

Sony aren't going to convert many people to PS by porting their games PC, but they'll make tens of millions of dollars more profit on pretty much any major title that they port without any significant cannibalisation of their existing business.

Also note that MS are now starting to sell their games on Steam as well despite the fact they don't get the platform holder advantage there like they do on XB and the W10 store. They do this because it means selling lots more games to people that wouldn't be buying them otherwise because most PC gamers won't buy stuff from the W10 store because its shit.

 

I doubt they’re desperate. They’ve completely dominated this generation.

 

If one department is making 100 Mill a year... but all your other departments end up loosing 300 mill a year... Doesn't matter HOW much you dominated.

 

Games division: profit profit profit
Mobile phone division: finally seeing profits for once last quarter
TV and audio appliances: ????
Movies/TV production: not enough profits i guess?

I think they made labtops? Not sure if they still make them.
The advantage Microsoft has over Sony is Microsoft can take more of a financial risk with the Xbox, and if Playstation does one stupid move, it'll be a sinking ship for Sony. The OG Xbox actually made Microsoft lose money, because it costed more to make the console, than to sell it. Yet they pulled though.

 

Sony's Vaio brand was sold in about 2014 due to poor sales.
