The Mirage/Hound has already been debated here. Mirage has his 84 tech spec powers. Hound is a tracker and creates holographic maps. So they should have at least given him those not swap his role and voice with that of Ironhide's:lol

I don't consider the show a disppointment. It had its hits and misses like every TF show. But I think it's too early to judge the entire show despite my apprehensions about Eathrise.

Now I want a scene of him driving in alt mode still wearing the cloak.

And yeah, the cloak is dumb because it’s supposed to be a disguise but is about as effective as him wearing glasses and a fedora.

I liked the show! Got around watching it recently. It has lots of flaws but also lots of tasty ideas.

    The Good stuff!

    - Post-Apocalyptic Cybertron looks as drab and depressing as one would expect. I liked that they are keeping it real to the situation.

    - I like Bumblebee's role a lot. As this pre-Autobot survivor who wants nothing to do with the war. It's a very interesting spin all the down to how he gets inducted into it.

    - Impactor/Ratchet dynamic is pretty cool. I like how both characters developed over time.

    - The motif of the Decepticon faction before they inevitably cross the line is really intriguing. They adopt a more warrior honour based system which I like a lot. It makes it easier to identify with them. It explains how both sides keep their soldiers even after millions of years of warfare. It's a shame it doesn't last very long.

    - Character designs are lifted straight from the toys. It was kind of cool.

    - They had the balls to kill off key characters. YEESSSS! Stakes are real!

    - Autobots showing a bit of a dark side when dealing with Bumblebee potentially ratting their location out to the Decepticons or when Wheeljack took aim at Bumblebee. I like that, at least in the first couple moments, both Autobots and Decepticons are shown to not be perfect. Doesn't last long though.

    - Soundblaster.

    - Jetfire/Starscream dynamic was so fun!

    - Not all action. There are a lot of moments where characters actually talk.

    - Elita and Optimus get moments.

    - I like how the show alludes to why certain toys were released the way they were or why some weren't released at all. Here are a couple examples: Bumblebee not showing up was because he was a scavenger! He didn't even transform haha; Impactor being a Decepticon but acting like an Autobot later explained the two variants of the toy; One last example is Jetfire. Dude was a straight up honourable Decepticon turned Autobot, just like the toy portrayed.

    - They changed characters again. Some of the changes to them were a bit tough to swallow whilst others were just fine. With time, some of the other characters grew on me.

    The Bad stuff!

    - Painfully slow delivery for the larger major characters. Optimus, Megatron, Magnus... why?? WHY? It really isn't necessary to speak this slowly. The likes of the Fox X-Men Magneto and Professor X are great examples of leaders who speak and carry their leadership with gravitas and good pace without reason to speak so... slllllooooowwwwlllllyyyyyy. Listening to Optimus and Megatron especially really, really annoyed me.

    - Some key plot points went over my head or didn't make sense. For example, Elita challenges the ancient idea that if Optimus were to take the Allspark off planet, that it'd bring about Cybertron's destruction. Knowing this potential reality, Optimus responds (and I'm paraphrasing here) "I won't let that happen". That didn't make a lick of sense to me. If you remove the Allspark how can one stop an entire planet's destruction after the fact? Then there was the mix up with where the purified energon ended up. I don't know about you guys, but I think I was the only one that thought it got blown up when Cog was perforated. Even the whole Allspark trap but it's purified energon switcheroo was a little confusing. Why not give the Autobots nothing at all? Why risk purified energon in their hands? It's 50/50 at that point who gets it. Didn't make sense to me.

    - How obviously eeeeeeeevvvvvvviiiiiiiilllllllll the Decepticons are with the grunts and sighs. Whenever they were onscreen you just had to know based on these audio cues.

    - Decepticons instructed to kill Autobots but run forward to their deaths. I don't get it. The Autobots are smart enough to stand in place and shoot them but fodder Decepticons tend to run first then start shooting. Mainly this is done for some epic opening for some attack. The lack of logic astounds me at certain moments.

    - Sometimes I had a laugh because it seemed to me that Megatron wasn't truly sure how bad he needed to be given the situation. He always seemed a bit... I don't know sometimes-ish. Starscream knew what's up pretty much ALL of the time. He should lead the Decepticons haha!

    The Missed Opportunities!

    - No female Decepticons.

    - Would have been nice to glean more about Cybertronian society. Maybe hear what their music sounds like, their art looks like. Everyone's practically devolved into warriors but don't really portray a lot of their society other than lines of dialogue. Would have been nice to see evidence of this sort of thing even through flashbacks. Maybe a character who collects art or has Cybertronian pets or something. Maybe someone really into Cybertronian faith. It could have enhanced the feeling of Cybertronians as extra-terrestrials.

    - Would have been nice if they had more lighter moments.

    - Explain the motivations behind the war. I don't like that something so key to the premise of the entire trilogy now has to be seeded over the course of 3 series. The reason I find this maddening is because I risk never finding out why Megatron hates Optimus or why Trion had to bite the dust. It means we have to trust the film makers to tell us why and they may forget to do this. This has happened a couple times in other media. It's kind of important to the setting and it would have been to their benefit (in my opinion) had they developed this from the get go and leave other mysteries for the over time seeding department.

    - C.O.M.B.A.T. system? Battle Masters? Micromasters? Where are those little guys? If I were selling this line, I'd be SELLING this line. They would have shown up. With Ratchet being a former weapons designer turned medic, this could have been a perfect opportunity to tie up the C.O.M.B.A.T. system being his creation. Mount on the regrets.

I am pretty sure I have more feelings and ideas about this but this is all I got for now. I'm waiting to see if they even try to explain Ironworks, Airwave or Greasepit in the next series going from little Deluxe to gargantuan gas station or construction platform in seconds. Meh. Chances are they'll just farm them for their modulation abilities similar to Cog and his faceless bros. Why haven't they made any female modulators/weaponizers yet?

Its an artifact of the toyline but, nonetheless, I'm happy guys like Spinister, Flywheels/Skythreads, Cog and Impactor got screentime. That and the G1-ified Movie Barricade as a Prowl redeco.

One thing I did like was the build up to Prime finally saying "Roll Out." Like, he keeps saying "Autobots..." like he's about to say Roll Out, only for him to say something else instead, and then he finally says it in the last chapter.

Cyberverse kind of did the same thing where Prime didn't say Roll Out until the last scene of the season 1 finale.

Megatron was going to use it to reformat all the autobots. Interestingly he wanted to win the war the old fashioned way, until Ultra Magnus transmitted the plan back to the autobots behind his back and he responds by authorizing Shockwave's plan.

Didn't feel pointlesss at all, it completely worked in my opinion, given the amount of episodes they had to work with.

I’m four episodes in. It’s alright. Too dark. I see the characters and the voices I expect to hear are someone else’s. At least they got Starscream’s right.

They’ve made Megatron more thoughtful. That’s fine, I guess. He could be a bit more tyrannical.

The worst character by far is Elita-1. She has spent the entire time being a nag and bitching to Optimus. Annoying.

Optimus is more of a clueless idiot in SIeGE than in a lot of fan comics. So that’s something!

One thing I didn't realize initially, was the opening scene of the first episode of Wheeljack and Bumblebee hunting for energon is a direct echo of the first scene in the first episode of the G1 show. More than meets the Eye part one also opens with Bumblebee and Wheeljack on Cybertron scouring for energon.

Someone finally made this with the toy. Mind you, it still looks silly.
    "Who's that Autobot?"
    116716877_3218933234809180_4433607221156562812_n.jpg

    "Well DUH. It's Ultra Magnus."

Even Cyberverse Megatron was handled better, where he sits down for peace talks with Prime, helps saving Cybertron, and then realizes what a horrible monster he could have been after meeting his alternate universe twin.

It's silly yes but I love the cape thing ultra magnus had going on.

If I was forced to come up with some reason for it maybe there are many bots shaped like ultra magnus so his shoulder stacks/colors arent enough to actually identify him. There are many car bots and cog clone shaped the same so it might apply to Magnus as well.

for me ultra magnus has some responsability in what have happen if he has waited to see what megatron choice would be it have been posible to change things, he force all of this, megatron havent kill him yet i know it is fiction but he was responsable he force megatron to that choice since if they can do it, the autobot too so he would have not take that risk he was still thinking, it was a stupid decision for someone who supposedly have all the knowledge of previous generations
