I think barricade is quite similar to the official MPM05. Still surprised how articulated these figures are for their sizes.

I was pretty sure the iron cross was a symbol associated with the nazis, but I'm not a fucking moron and I can tell the difference between that and a swastika without being a WWII history nut. Every time I post something about not wanting nazi decos on my transformers I get an odd number of people getting upset about it. Some people only want G1 colors, some people only want nemesis repaints of Optimus. Why is it so fucking hard to understand that I just don't want to buy a transformer with a nazi deco? I don't care about historical accuracy or that "bad guys as nazis makes sense" I just don't wanna buy this awesome-looking figure with a nazi deco. That's it.

 

Oh it's fine, I get that. Wouldn't stop me but I can definitely understand.

 

Wow they both look great! I like the look of Hot Rod more but Barricade still looks fantastic. The fact that this is the only decent Hot Rod at this scale makes the figure even better. The thing is that if I get them both (or even just one), I'll feel that I need to buy their WWII Bumblebee for them to feel complete.

 

I still need to pick up a Green Hornet. Do all GH variants come with Starscreams leg or was that an early bonus? Just wondering if I’ll get the leg if I order from TCP or some other domestic shop.

 

Calm down, nobody's calling you a moron. If it plays out like other releases, we'll see multiple repaints with one lacking any sort of German livery. However, we are dealing with WW2 characters and you should be able to understand that there is a chance such symbols would appear on the villains without getting mad about it. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

 

It should come with either the grey or the purple versions, regardless of where you order from I believe.

 

The iron cross was a symbol that originated with the prussian army and later carried over to the germans being used to represent courage and valor throughout WWI and the like. Like most things the nazis co-opted what was traditionally a symbol of pride and turned it into a symbol of hatred. What this unfortunately means us that if toyworld should ever give us WWI themed decos like the red baron starscream they showed off it will likely have an iron cross as it was used before the nazis. That said if you don't like it it's perfectly fine and sound reasoning

Elsewise, as I don't think I've mentioned it. Barry looks great though I hope you can remove the blades from the tire for vehicle.

 

Thanks for that man no worries. And yeah this is all hypothetical anyways since only grey prototypes have been revealed. I just don't trust TW to have good taste but as it's been said there will be repaints anyways. As a grey prototype he looks like a phenomenal figure! Doesn't look like the blades are removable unfortunately as they don't show them that way. Sort of weird but then again TW is sort of weird.

Looks like that extra tire he comes with that is his blade weapon can't have the blade parts detach. If it could then it would make for a nice spare tire in vehicle mode but as is with the blades it looks weird.

 

It’s not attached in this picture, so all you need is to hope it can attach to the right part of the car on its own
