Big space shuttle fan here too. Agree with your observations, except that Skylynx has two side entry hatches on the forward fuselage, while the Orbiters only had one, port side. And Skylynx's hatches seem to have the flat part at the top, rather than the bottom on the Orbiters.

Overall it's a beautiful homage to both G1 Skylynx and the space shuttle.

 

My case what I did was, my mom sews/quilts a lot so she has a lot of different craft tools. I found something that looked like a compact pair of scissors (im sure it has a fancy name but don't ask me what it is lol) and just inserted it into the hole and spun it around a few times. Worked really well for me.

 

Oh yeah I didn't even notice that about the hatches on him. It's a shame the "Lynx" portion didn't incorporate details from the Mobile Launch Platform. Even just little homages. But I guess the shapes are so different it would have been impossible.

*sigh* I miss the space shuttle.

Complete oversized lower leg replacement for my Scorponok is just about done. The first blank model test fit was a success, just need to add the hinge assembly for his folding leg panels, finish detailing/paneling work, and adjust some tolerances. They stay on in all modes and fully transform like the original legs (bc I know there's always the "does it still transform??" dude lurking every damn thread lol). Height increase is 1/2 an inch, combined with my torso extension that brings him dead eye with Fort Max. These legs take use a ton of filament and take many, many hours to print, so once my final detailed completed legs are printed for my Scorponok, they're unfortunately going to be the only ones in existence. =\

 

that's dope. he is pretty top heavy so could do with some chonkier legs.

Hey guys, kind of an unusual request, but could I see a pic of Earthrise Optimus next to PotP Hot Rod? Curious to see the height difference and if Hot Rod could still pass as a Rodimus in WFC.

also scored skylynx over the weekend, very fun figure with lots of possibilities.

still waiting on scorpinok since I ordered thru bestbuy with some rewards. but very much so anticipating him if hes as good as snapdragon and skylynx.

 

Finally started working on the infrastructure to add Scorpnok to my Nemesis Command Diorama! So excited!!! Fingers crossed! Going to be a BIG project!
