This looks absolutely gorgeous, but is anyone else weirded out by the levels of inception going on here?

It's a non-transforming figure designed to be totally faithful to a cartoon...
...that was animated using the CAD models of (and hence actually already totally faithful to) an existing transforming toy.
(And if you want to follow that to its logical conclusion, you could add: "that was itself trying to homage the cartoon appearance of a character...that was an artistic reimagining of a toy." But that's true of nearly every figure we buy.)

It's just kind of blowing my mind that at the end of the day, this is basically just replicating the transforming toy, but without the transforming bits. (And with an unbelievably amazing deco and superior articulation, obviously.)

No big dumb lips = No buy

Okay but seriously this figure looks better than he looks in the show

There's that one toy maker that's gonna make the Bee movie Megatron, I think it was Yolopark and they showed a silhouette

I thought of doing that, but aesthetically he doesn’t fit, sadly. The bumblebee movie characters have lots of exposed robotics. This does not. If it works for you, however, that’s great! Me, I gotta wait til Bumblebee 2.

nothing mind blowing about it. Thanks to the Bayverse, Transformers has evolved as a brand beyond simple puzzle toys. Transformers are now “superheroes” with their transformations being part of their powers. Watching “Seige” and Megatron transforms twice in the entirety of the series.

just like how Hot Toys doesn’t represent every power Superman has with their Justice League Superman toy, 3Zero doesn’t show every power available to Megatron.

...i think hasbro took the wrong lesson from historic complaints about toys not matching the character models: it's supposed to be "Make my Toys look as Good as the Media!", not "Make the Media look as Bad as my Toys!"..

Well, looks like your view is in the minority. I’ve seen tons of positive responses to the cartoon AND toys. Looks like Hasbro has a hit on its hands.

This is how he should have been in the show. Shiny, mechanically articulated instead of stretchy/rubbery, and no damn forearm gaps

I get what it\'s supposed to be but man, what wasted potential. Hasbro should let other companies make transformable toys. This design lends itself to be something that can be transformed. I would have gone all in on a premium siege line with transformable figures. This would have been so easy to make them hyper articulated and transformable. I\'m sure this line will be well regardless, just feel like they could have expanded their base with this line.

    True, in the past.

I think the animation team could have maybe tweaked some proportions and filled in some gaps but, it's a pretty decent testament to how good the WFC toy line has been so far. Also, I'm really impressed with how nice some of the Netflix repaints are in-hand. It's all a great step forward for Transformers toys and media. These threezero figures are just icing on the cake imo.

It's not that the idea of non-transforming figures is weird -- it's that usually such figures are trying to represent a particular character design/animation model, often striving for greater accuracy than a transforming toy can manage... but in this case the animation model is literally just the 3D model of an existing toy. So you can't really get much more accurate -- and you get stuff like Optimus' blatant arm kibble recreated for screen accuracy.

Looks nice, but way to shiny for me.  For me, it looks way too polished.

Some people only collect “premium” figures. I have a friend with a room FULL of Hot Toys. Wouldn’t be caught dead with a Marvel Legends or DC Essentials figure. If it’s not $150+, it’s not in the collection. These are for that kind of collector. The museum/art gallery type. There is a market for that.

ThreeZero products are well made, but I don’t know if they’d hold up to rigorous transformations or the tolerances needed to fit pieces together. I think that’s better left to Takara for the eventual Masterpiece Siege figures in 10 years or so. ThreeZero’s base is fairly large, and HasTak isn’t hurting for sales, so really I think there is enough crossover to please both companies.

I see these guys as cake toppers in a collection. Let’s say you have a detolf for your WFC figures. These go on top of the detolf with ceiling rack light on them. Then you have the detolf with the Hasbro figures on the shelves and Omega Supreme at the bottom. Makes for a great display.

Looks like it can transform to me. Why else would they put wheels on it. My KBB CW Megatron with DX9 kit is the current stand-in for this guy... but this sounds premium. Needs to transform though. I don't see how it could not. This is a pretty simple transform design. However the paint splaterring will turn me off. I'd prefer a non-scared chest too.

Some face options would have been nice, it’s kind of odd to see him fighting Prime with a completely :| expression.
But beautifully made and a great headsculpt.

As for premium transformable Netflix WFC, 3p will be there for us.

Absolutely perfect. Well, almost. Would have liked a couple swap-able face plates for more expressions, but man. What a cool figure.

Okay, I'm really hyped that Megatron has a removable backpack. I wonder, does Optimus also have a removable backpack or arm kibble?

But man, Megatron on his own looks freaking great.
