Did they split when you put the shoulder or elbow assemblies into the bicep? Just wondering as there may be a piece of undergate stuck in there causing a tolerance issue. I'd check all the holes and pegs for proper assembly then use orange cap Tamiya plastic cement. gently apply the glue on the inside and tightly wrap the part in masking tape to keep the seam tight. The next day remove it and check/adjust the assemblies for tolerance once more. I have a master airbrush as well, great budget brush. You can drop it and it wont break plus if you polish the needles with some toothpaste and brown paper bag all of a sudden you have a way better setup.
From my knowledge, it was all correctly assembled. However, while constructing it, I found that the light blue plastic was much more fragile than the dark blue. Also, my problem is that the pieces broke.
I opened mine up just now and had a look at that C runner. No undergates on the inside diameter of the bicep so no issues there. Double check the elbow pieces from K runner, numbers 3&4, just to make sure they clam-shelled to each other tightly. If they don't it, will cause undo stress on the bicep piece. If everything checks out, youll be good after gluing.
I'm sorry, I really don't know too much model kit terms, pieces c3 and c4 split if inserted to either to the lower arm or shoulder. What do your recommend for glue?
Go with any type of plastic cement, I used the tamiya orange because it actually melts into the plastic as it polymerizes. They have a thinner green cap version but it would not be as effective here. Looking at page 5 of the instructions, parts c3 and c4 have specific orientations for correct assembly to key into the elbows. Other than that it's pretty straight forward, double checked it on my X3. I'm thinking your C runner pieces might be faulty.
Yeah, I think your right, They do say that it can break. Double checked: Yeah, my orientation is right, I think mine were just faulty. Thanks for the help!!!
Pics are blurry so I almost see, but I fully understand and go with everything @protohuman said.. It's an easy fix but you need some thin cement (or superglue if you've got it.) Just pry it enough that you've got a clear gap, tooth pick a dab of cement in it and then let it close, pinch it with your fingers a few seconds/minutes and let it sit. sand smooth any bubbles.
Why is X the same size as Zero (in fact, slightly taller)? Zero was always a bit taller than X... I'm really not feeling this Zero, but I'm getting him because it's a part of the line. I really just wish Bandai was making these...
I think the X4 armor, specifically the boot upgrades, is giving him a little platform lift. I can't get enough of the kotobukiya new kits. Hopefully distributors get the Eastern model Zero soon.
Looks Great, hopefully preorders go up on BBTS soon, I have my Zero on preorder for this month over there. While that, I'm repairing my X as we speak. Also, if we are gonna keep getting Armors, I have 3 on the top of my list: X4 Ultimate Armor: Shadow Armor: And the X8 Icarus Armor: We also desperately need Vile and Sigma Kits
I really want to see a translucent "All X" from Kotobukiya. There was also a cool transllucent green virus? armor in the Bandai Kit line. Maybe some cooler person will help us with decent photos. Also Force Armor Kotobukiya has an Amiami exclusive version, but I think it only comes with stands. The product listing denoted an alternative buster is included in this set.
I want to see the original X Full Armor. now that they're doing that Rising Fire X kit, just remold the effect parts in blue and you've got the Shoryuken power-up! Next time I see it available, I'm getting the X3. Some of the Gunpla hobby stores I frequent have the Kotobukiya beam sabers on discount, so I may just pick one of those up as well. EDIT! According to Dengeki Hobby, the Kotobukiya Store Exclusive bonus is a background display. Probably cardstock but neat!
Oh! I didn't know they didn't do an X1 armor yet! I definitely need that above all the others. The Shadow is cool cause ninjas, and I don't know why, but I've always have drugged the X8 armors, I find the weird front collar is cool.
In my dream world Shoryuken power-up would be a separate kit with upgrade chamber, holo Dr.Light (karategi), hand and energy projectile parts. I'm sure Kotobukiya has internal discussion about how the Rockman fans were spoiled as children by past Bandai kits.
Koto already makes accessory kits that would be perfect for this. The "Omega Chamber" for their Frame Arms kits would be the best template to start with.
