True... The Marvel Comics Transformers will always be MY Transformers and I still consider that to be the best continuity. Beast Wars is a bit different in that it doesn’t have multiple versions of the same source material (unless we go by the wave one toy bios! Wouldn’t that be a hoot?!). G1 had two in the 80’s and now has... I lost count.

whoa whoa whoa... while I have a few issues with BM (the personality changes in Megatron, Primal, and Rattrap mostly, and the character designs were a bit unorthodox), I absolutely do not dislike it. It was different and edgy (product of the time, maybe, as Batman Beyond was similar in feel) and was a fun ride, especially when they hit the second season. Now, I thought most of the toys were shit. I would love to have modern versions of all the Vehicons in the current scale, at the very least, as well as the others...

Beast Machine by itself is a fascinating and amazingly ambitious show way ahead of its time. However it isn't a good sequel to Beast Wars.

I watched both series and while I got used to Beast Machines, it was a huge disappointment coming off of Beastwars. Some character designs were notable, but those were all Vehicons for me. I thought the Maximals looked horrendus.

The biggest issue I have with BM is them just.. glowing and Ben 10-ing into their other modes, rather than actually transforming

I think this whole line, I just want the 14 Season 1 characters and G1 Needlenose.

Beast Machines the show is great. The tonal shift from Beast Wars is pretty jarring at first, but once it gets going it becomes every bit the true sequel to Beast Wars as it pushed story and character forward and gave us a very unique take on a post "Wars" Beast era.

Beast Machines the toy line was a bit of a mess, though, and had many issues, but above all the biggest issue was of course screen to toy accuracy. So I think eventually getting more accurate versions of the Beast Machines cast in Generations is always welcome.

I have a feeling that they never make it to modern earth they may jump to prehistoric earth. Also I'm sure Cheetor will be the Allspark guardian.

I actually would like to see more new takes on Beast Wars like the various iterations of the G1 continuity there have been. I guess the closest to this would have been Beast Wars: Uprising.

Beast Machines was a fine sequel to Beast Wars, and much like its predecessor dared to challenge the fundamentals of the brand and be as different to BW as BW was to G1.

In fact I think Beast Machines is being more fondly remembered these days for its ambition and quality writing. Nowadays when everything is so generic and safe, Beast Machines seems almost unthinkable. It challenged the brand, and like the characters it it went to places and asked questions that were uncomfortable, yet came out feeling stronger and more mature, like it'd grown.

It really felt like an analogy to growing up, which would've rung true with a lot of its viewers. When you're young, you feel invincible, immortal, and though things are hard and your problems seem big, it all works out. This is what Beast Wars was all about, that nice regimented safety child life comes with. But then as you get older, you lose certain safeties in your life. Your own decisions become more important, and your failures become more real. You're unsure of yourself, unsure of your future, and it feels like any wrong move on your part means the end of the world. This is Beast Machines, that harsh reality of a future without protection or comfort of others. Things get ugly, they get tragic, confusing and cruel. But if you're strong enough inside, where it counts, you can make it, even if it seems like the whole world is against you.

I'll always love Beast Wars more, but to me Beast Machines is the only Transformers media to truly evolve beyond its origins as a vehicle for product. It's obviously not perfect, but everything it does is meticulous and meaningful, and sometimes even kind of wonderful.

Even Nightscream, a character I loathe, is an essential part of the story. I just wish he was less grating and obnoxious.

If anything, Beast Machines' biggest flaw was it was just too early. It was shaking up the status quo before Transformers really had a status quo. It was ahead of its time.

It's further nuts too Hasbro APPROVED the pitch.

Like, Skir mentioned they were surprised Hasbro actually went for it, given generally people asking for a "spiritual" series don't generally actually mean that.

And yeah, I personally LOVE BM. I mean, plenty of criticisms as a sequel work one can raise but as a self-contained piece it's amazing.

That's because they transform on a cellular or even molecular level, which is vastly different from shifting pieces around. It create this really bizarre form of transformation that doesn't exist anywhere else.

I'm familiar with the why, I just dont like it. Too many little parts ruin it for me. Later Bay designs test my patience enough as is, and I enjoyed the first trilogy to an extent

While this is true, I will say I wish more effort had been put into conveying that balance between "morphing" and "re-arranging." Cheetor does it pretty well since at one point he has both his robot arms and beast forelegs out, clearly showing it's part metamorphosis but still has parts "stored away." Blackarachnia's is also pretty cool with how her spider legs almost sheath into her body. My favourite is Rattrap's, though, the way the wheels spin and his torso just pops out.

The worst one is, sadly, Primal. His entire beast mode just shrinks into his robot mode, which grows out of his back. It's surprisingly basic for the main character. Botanica's is equally as simplistic, though more hidden by vines.

There's actually no real "little parts" at play, outside of Primal's very first transformation. It's just limbs getting sucked in and out, fully formed if a bit distorted.

Honestly, the thing that annoyed me the most out of all the Beast Machines designs was just Nightscream's annoying hair style. Felt like an old man where I just wanted one of the characters to hold him down and give him a hair cut.

Let's be real. The best part (and personally the only thing I really liked) of BM were the Vehicon Generals. That asshole Jetstrorm was hilarious. Strika's pretty dummy thicc, too.

    Thoughts:
-Glad Beast Wars is finally getting some new toys. (Blackarachnia will definitely be a purchase if I can find her...)
-If we don't get another G1 Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, Starscream, or Soundwave for three or four years, I'd be totally fine with that.
-I second everyone saying they would like to see Generations versions of the Victory cast at some point. I watched it for the first time earlier this year, am currently rewatching it, and I really like it. I'd particularly like to have a good-looking Deathsaurus (and a non-MP Star Saber).
-I can't decide if I want Beast Machines to get new toys as well or not. I like the show, but the Maximals have some nightmarishly ugly designs....(Although I'd totally buy a Jetstorm).
-Can we get a Generations Knock Out at some point? This is random, but his original toy is "meh" at best and I'd like to see a better one.
