I wish I'd gotten a DA-19 as well as some of the other earlier stuff, I'm a little late to the ball. Not in the fashionable kind of way either. If its merely seating in general that your looking for my suggestion is to checkout the offerings from 2nddynasty.com. I'm currently half way through printing the Hammerhead variation of the Scout ship. Here is an example of some of the interior tiles I have hanging around waiting for the hull to be printed. If your looking specifically for the DA19 seating I'd need a set to take measurements. Edit: I should add that there is an also outstanding sets from dragons.rest that's a little more accessible to buy. All of their "Scatter" sets have great stuff in. Link I'm going to have a go at their gate and walls when the printers free.
I got my Tridasher a few days ago and it’s everything I’d hoped it would be. Nice and solid, great to fiddle around with, and an excellent figure all around. Thanks again to @HolyCulture, @Fleebnork and @unexistance for helping me decide to step into collecting the Diaclone Reboot series. I’m hooked and just put in a preorder for the red version of the Trirambler (it was tough to pick which color scheme I wanted but I love the way it looks in red). I don’t think I can afford to get too deep into the line and still collect MP, but I’ll be spitting my collecting money between the two now. At the least I’ll be getting Trijetter and Tridigger too. And the risers… and some of the smaller mechs… oh, then I’ll need to get some Waruders too… oh, and those bigger sets look fun too… Here’s a shot of what’s become this week’s deskbot. I love the way the light is playing off the sword.
I can't think of a pretty way to fix a joint like that and for it to be strong. However if you sandwiched (with epoxy glue) the break between two bits of plastic it would be strong enough to play with again. If you selected the sandwich material from something like an Airfix kit you can make it look like an in world repair job. A gunpla kit might also have a load of little greeblies that could tie the repair job into the model better.
Still wanna buy Trirambler even though TCP sold out at $135... Question about TFSource - has anyone ever asked for free shipping when their subtotal was $149.99? I don’t wanna pad my order out with another figure for 1 cent.
Unfortunately, I don't have any access to DA19 seats. Ow, those links are dangerous to my wallet! Thanks for sharing them! Edit: Ok, I can't resist, those links are too tempting. But I have never used a 3D print before. I have been willing to use it, but the opportunity didn't happen yet, I guess until now. Besides shapeways, is there a recommended affordable place to order 3D printing online and have it shipped?
Does anyone have pictures of the DA-19 seating area? An overhead shot of a Dianaut sitting in a seat for example.
I have only ever used my own printers, the commercial prints cost a lot more than DIY. Having said that my Hammerhead must be getting near to £150 in resin... If you have any questions about resin printing send me a PM I'll answer any I can, and point you in the right direction for the ones I cant.
Cool, thanks Edix. I think the public library here actually has a 3d printer. I will take a look once the pandemic situation improves. While I wait, I am already selecting some models from those links One of my plans is to place two seated dianauts in the chest of POTP leader optimus.
Thank you. There is 1 (at minimum) 3d printable seat designed for Dianauts on the free stl file sites. I have the file myself and at some point may print it if i don't print my own ( i prefer seats that allow legs outstretched for my custom vehicles). I asked for the image because , in a worst case scenario, one could design a seat simply based upon the image you provided assuming they have a lot of patience , resin , tolerance for a potential lack of connecting rod and port under the seat and a willingness for trial and error. Example - One of my tiny rc sci fi tanks has a single seat made of ABS sheet within it for a dianaut driver. I scratch built it based upon measuring a dianaut figure. It works fine.
Just spent 10 mins swapping the cores over between the OG and the TTM versions. The Hero colors of the Trivers are always a little too much of a mixed pallet. Its not complicated but would there be any interest in me posting a video how-to?
